Quite frustrating. I am Filipino myself but born and raised here in Canada. And my family keeps asking me what is going on with my husband's application cause all their applications for PR took only a few months. I'm so annoyed at this actually. I know its very difficult for people to get visitors visa to Canada unless you have strong ties to your country and have lots of funds. I know A LOT of Filipinos who use agencies in the Philippines to lend them large amount of funds so they can get their visitors visa. They get approved. But Canada won't look into them because Canada loves Filipinos. It's just not fair. And then there are people like us who just want to start their lives with their spouses yet we're the ones who suffer.
It's really tough to deal with for my wife and I. It looks like it'll take 12+ months for us. She wanted to come to Canada to meet my parents before we got married but her TRV was rejected twice, we we got married without my parents having ever met her in person. And now we're waiting for a process which, sometimes, feels artificially long.

Just above they were talking about ordering the visa officer notes to know more about why the process is taking so long, to get some insight into an otherwise opaque process. I did this for the TRV, and the document was automatically generated one or two days after I had requested, and sent to me after 31 days exactly (one day after the allowed limit). It had been sitting on a shelf - not a real shelf mind you, a digital shelf, for almost a month. So in some way or another, the system is intentionally designed to be slow, as if to mock the user.

And now I'm in Canada, my wife is 12 timezones away and we're just hoping to be reunited, both of us terrified because even though our application is super simple with no real red flags, there's no way to know what the visa officer will think. And I'm just thinking this process is robbing us of maybe 2%, maybe 3-5% of the time we wish we could have together in our lifetimes. Maybe there's a good explanation somewhere for why it's okay for applicants from India and some other countries to be processed extremely fast and for Russians to have to wait over a year, but without any explanation it just feels unfair.

Maybe I'm being overly dramatic :p forgive me.

I know how it feels... I am at 11 months now and can see my hubby only 2 times a year for few weeks......... :(
but there is no explanation why for some it takes so long and for some so less... maybe, pure luck?!:) and it’s not only Russians who get done in 12 months or more, many other nationalities do as well, Indians too... because of few successful cases you see on here that get done within few months it doesn’t mean that all get done that fast... eventually we all will be through this process and will just forget this long stressful wait:) stay positive ;)

Yeah I get that... Also same, we've been apart for ~40 days and it's already tough. We're trying to plan a trip to meet up in February/March. Unfortunately, that's pretty rough for me to pull off considering I've spent 5 months over there in the last 15 months. That has been costly for me both financially and in terms of my career.

All that being said I do understand that it's not at all limited to Russians. It's just, Russian applications get sent to Warsaw, and Warsaw doesn't seem to work super fast!

I don’t know about how slow Warsaw is... slowest is London and Mexico... anyway, let’s hope it won’t be more than one year:confused:

Of course you get the same information but ordering notes takes 30 days and asking your MP takes 1 so...do whatever makes you happy. This is a 12 month+ process for some of us. And much of that time, we hear NOTHING at all. Watching others get through the process in 5 months or even 3 makes you wonder why yours would be taking so long...especially if you feel like it is straightforward. It feels amazing to have something to be positive about today.
Yes, I can relate to that! Oh man, when we ordered out notes it took 4 months. Everything about our case is long.

Hello :)

Is there still anyone from November-December 2018 applicants that have not heard anything from Warsaw since AOR2? Or is it only me :(
We are June 2018 applicant and now going on 15 months and counting. We have heard nothing since August 2018 since AOR1 and 2 asking for some document. At this point, we have gotten our MP involved.

Our application how now been 15 months. My husband is American. Some have said fast for Americans. Has not been for us. The whole thing just pisses me off. This is our 3rd application since 2007 and it will be our last. VERY LONG STORY LOL. I could write a book about this..

Oh... 3-rd one... so maybe this is the reason why it takes so long? Are you in Mexico visa office? Did you have interview or pfl?
I will hold fingers crossed for your application fast processing ;)

I'm rooting for you! Out of curiosity, why is your application in Warsaw anyway?
