Long story short, I'm crunching down the numbers to see if I can afford buying a car right now. My funds are sufficient (16k CAD) when I'll be putting my name in the pool, once I graduate from university. Since the process usually takes 6 months, I'm worried about not being able to find a job and ending up using some of these funds to pay for rent, insurance, groceries, utilities....etc.

Since I'm a student here and will be physically present in Canada when I submit my application, will I have to re-enter Canada once it's hopefully issued?
Furthermore, if I don't need to re-enter Canada and am just sent the PR card to my address will I have to present my proof of funds (Bank statement) to anyone beyond my initial ITA application?

You do have to either leave and re-enter Canada or complete landing interview inside Canada in order to become a PR (after application is approved). Technically, you are supposed to show proof of funds when entering as a PR or landing interview. Most people are not asked to provide it again at that time. However, it is possible.

Thanks for the prompt response. Any clue if a scanned copy (I can print it out) from my bank statement from a foreign bank account in USD is enough, or will I need to have the physical original paper on me?
