But from what I read the conservative government is totally against it And they have said it's going to be the first agenda, when they came to power, also planning to limit the express entry to labour market needs
there is not a single statement by conservatives where they said they will change EE, they always gave hypothetical response on EE. They said openly they will be changing refugee policy and strict border regulations. If I am mistaken then please share any link you have got

You have it all wrong. Age is a major factor that affects how a person integrates in a new country.

If you are at 33 years old, you're chances of integrating properly and learning the language are much much lower than a 25 year old.
Also, If you're coming from a non English speaking country, then you are not qualified as a professional in Canada unless your English is immaculate. That's why having a masters or a PhD technically cancels out all the points you lose for being 33 years of age. It shows that you actually became a "Professional"

People who come from countries where they were extremely qualified tend to suffer here to get even beginner positions because they can't communicate in English.

Age is very relevant and the way it is incorporated into the immigration system is perfect right now. They don't want older married people who have a partner who is even less qualified to integrate into Canada than the applicant . A 25 year old person is very likely to be a single person who will end up with a Canadian citizen.

You simply disagree because it is not made for you and you feel cheated. However, for the benefit of Canada as a nation, this strategy is the best.

It's all about integration into the culture.
So you mean they don't want older married and they want inexperienced young people to grow the economy. Am I right? This is what you're proclaiming?

Well it doesn't sync man. No offence meant, there is no substitute for experience mate. Look at the median age of Canada. Of course they are not looking for 45yrs oldies or 25yrs young blood. They want a mix of a median age of 30 which is a blend of experience and youth.

For any country, immigration, experience does matter. Why do you think, Canada's dependents are till 22yrs and not 18yrs like India. Coz the youth, as per them, still needs nurturing.

And regarding ITA, nothing comes easy. Everybody works hard for it.

Well, you never know what's gonna happen. Just a couple of months ago, 450 is a decent score. I'm not being pessimistic or making any prediction here; I just want to say it's better safe than sorry. You can get a lot of extra points and become much safer if you you can just improve your IELTS writing just a little bit.
Thank for encouraging... But this rise in scores is so disappointing....will try doing the exam again..

I'm kind of praying for a draw today as well but after what happened last week I'm trying to avoid blind optimism. My girlfriend is waiting for her ITA (she's at 459). Not only did she miss out on the July 24th draw due to the tie breaker but she also missed out on the draw that didn't happen last week (which I assured her was going to happen...stupid me)...and just to add insult to injury, I told her that the August 7th draw had happened thanks to someone trolling here on the forum and I didn't check the official site so I had to turn around and tell her that I was wrong....she wasn't impressed. :( She had dragged her feet a bit on submitting her application in May and now she's paying the price, she would've had her ITA at this point...hoping it works out for her though. I also suggested that she should try NS: Experience PNP as she's been working for a couple years here...but that may still be a few months wait. I'm still fairly confident that she will get her ITA but it's getting to crunch time now with her permit expiring next year.

That is indeed a very heart touching tragedy my friend. Sometimes this Canada journey is just too harsh for some of us. Many of us have our own stories filled with sadness and shockers. I really hope the cutoff ll go down to 458 soonest. We need something positive soon to keep us dreaming. Best of wishes to both of you for a faster ITA.

Thanks! :)...yeah trying to be positive for her but I know she's getting a little discouraged with seeing people all around her getting her PR. I honestly didn't expect them to skip the draw last week. Was pretty unexpected....also feel guilty because I'm about to get my Citizenship in a couple weeks so I want her to start that journey as well. Hoping for the best though...good luck!

Good thing is that she can always become your conjugal partner/common law partner/spouse and get a sponsorship from you. She will be on the way soon.

Hey! That’s rather offensive to us 50+ who are working our asses off, and are never sick. I’m seriously sick of lazy young people who don’t take pride in their work. I see them every day.

I easily work 60hrs/week. I’m laughing at CIC requiring 30hrs as full time. If I only did 30hrs a week, I’d be working 2-2.5 days a week.

And I’m 50+ and currently can’t turn down job offers fast enough.
