Hi everyone,

I am hoping someone can help me, I submitted my husband application in December 2018. Medical and biometric done in March 2019. Background check started in April 2019 I believe and on July 20 2019 they asked for photocopy of his passport which I submitted online yesterday. And then I received an email saying my application has been transferred to London office for further processing.

Does anyone know why they requested for photocopy of his passport? Also how long London will take? I heard between 7-9 months, but my husband's background check was started in Sydney in April so it should be quicker no?

btw, I am sponsoring him from Afghanistan. Anyone in the same boat as me?

Your husband file got transferred to London VO because your husband needs visa stamped on his passport and not a printed letter as he needs visa to travel from Afghanistan to Canada.

Was your husband passport requested under PPR email ? Can you share the request sydney office sent you for this ?

The email we got said that we need to submit a photo copy of his passport by 22/8/2019 so that application gets processed further. And if his passport is expiring within 12 months, then they asked him to renew it which he did and we sent updated passport photocopy.

I am sorry I am not sure what ECAS and TAB are, but I was approved to sponsor him in February 26 2019. When I check the statues under his tab it says "in process".

Can you please confirm what updates are appearing on ECAS for your husband PR application ?

  1. We received application for permanent residence on December 20, 2018.
  2. We sent a letter on February 19, 2019. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
  3. We sent medical instructions on February 25, 2019. To avoid delays, please provide us with the information requested as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
  4. Medical results have been received.
  5. We sent correspondence on July 23, 2019. If has not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please have do so as soon as possible. Please wait until receives the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

I did not fill out that part. Is there another form he needs to fill out in order for me to become authorized representative?
I will try calling regardless. I have not heard anything since the medical.

No additional document was requested. I am just trying to figure out what stage is the application after medical was passed last month
