Hi all!

Not sure if this is the right place to post sorry if not.

My boyfriend is a Bahamian citizen currently here in Canada on a study visa. It is our understanding he needs a US visa in order to travel directly from Canada to US. Without it we would have to go to Bahamas then to US( but apparently on the way back he can come from US directly to Canada)

Can't find much of anything useful online to sort out if we need to go all the way to Ottawa or if we can go to the US embassy in Toronto. Any advice would be most helpful!

There is no US embassy in Toronto, just a consulate. (Embassies are only located in national capitals, like Ottawa.)

And yes, you can apply for a visa there.

See this link for details, the DS-160, and this is also the site where you schedule an appointment in the consulate in Toronto, after you create an account:

I found lots of blog entries and a WikiHow explaining how to apply for a US visa from Canada.
