What immigration status must I have when I apply under spouse or common-law partner in Canada class?

Hi Everyone

I currently have a study permit which expires next July.

Also, I have plan to submit applications under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class and open work permit in next January.
When I submit those applications, can I stay in Canada as an implied status, otherwise must I change my status as a visitor? The reason I ask this question is that I might not want to keep study, so I would like to know how I remain in Canada until applications are approved.

Please help me to know the information.

You should apply for the "Open Work Permit" with the "SCLPC" application. This will maintain your status. It will not allow you to work until the OWP is issued however.
