Express Entry with Dependant Sibling

Hi, I am an Electrical Engineer from United Kingdom and currently considering applying to Canada for better future. I am a Pakistani National and I have a sibling who is dependant on me. Physically she has grown and is around 32 years old. But mentally she is still around 12 to 15 years old. Could you please guide me if Express Entry lets your dependant sibling to come with you? I am consider a MSc in Data Science and Analytics once I land so I will be most likely working in tech industry once I am done with my degree. Please share your experiences if possible. Thanks!

Others can comment as well but as read the attached link this possibly is not an option for a sibling to include a sibling in their application. Maybe there is an H&C option but you would maybe need to consult an immigration lawyer as opposed to a forum. Also need to consider if there could be any long term medical demands.

Siblings are not classified as dependents for immigration purposes. Your sister cannot be included in your Express Entry application.

Thank you so much for your comments. What options do I have to bring my sister then? There are not many facilities for children like her in Pakistan so eventually we would want to move for her better future.

The options are very limited and it may not be possible to bring her to Canada in the end.

The only real option available to you is to sponsor your parents for PR and to try to include her in the application as a dependent. Note that you will need to live and work in Canada for at least three years before you will qualify to sponsor your parents for PR. Also, it's a lottery system and only a limited number of applications are accepted, so you may have to wait additional years to be picked.

It's difficult to say if this plan will work out since IRCC may or may not allow your sister to be included as a dependent in your parents' application. Also, she will have to pass a medical and depending on her condition, there's some chance IRCC might refuse the application on those grounds.

Unfortunately there's really no easy path to bringing your sister her and no guarantee you will be able to do so if you immigrate.

If the siblings are 18 years old or more they still can be sponsored if the sponsor is a lonely person (he/she does not have a spouse, a common-law partner, a conjugal partner, a mother or father, a child, or any close relatives in Canada or who could be sponsored to Canada).

So if you, the sponsor, are not married and do not have any parents, you MAY be able to sponsor her later after becoming a PR and living in Canada for a period of time, but you cannot include her in your application now.

I'd also recommend you hire an immigration lawyer in this scenario.
