I am from India and I need a GIC for my visa application. I turned 18 recently on 7/7/19 and i don't have a pan card. I applied for my pan card on 12th July but I don't think I will receive it any time soon. I need to fund my GIC asap because I need to get started on my visa process. I have a joint account with my mother where I am the primary account holder. However if we use that account to transfer the fund from my account to Scotiabank for the GIC it will obviously need a pan card and that will be my mother's. It is a joint account and I am the primary holder my question is even if my mom's pancard is used will it reflect my name once the fund is received by Scotiabank. I need to know asap it's urgent please let me know if you have any information. Thanks!!

I would suggest you ask your local bank and Scotiabank if you can make a bank transfer without PAN. As far as I know, that is not possible as you need to quote your PAN card in the A2 form that you submit.

I would apply for a PAN card ASAP. There have been people who got GIC without PAN by sending through forex, but those are older posts and apparently Scotiabank says they will reject funds send from forex.
