PR cards are currently being renewed in 16 days, according to https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html

However, that's not a guarantee so it's not worth it if you're flying in 18 days.

A month should be more than enough time to get a PRTD. You've met your Residency Obligations, right? Then, apply for a PRTD as soon as you arrive in Vietnam. Check the process here - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/new-immigrants/pr-travel-document.html

Make sure you have thoroughly understood how to apply, and you have all the necessary documents ready before you leave Canada.
hi again! i've read the links that you posted, i saw it takes 16 days to renew my pr card, but the other site saying that it takes 104 days . which one is the truth? i already filled the form and paid the fee, ready to send it on monday. what if my new pr card doesn't come on time before i leave? do you think is there any problems before i get on board from canada airport or china airport? or vietnam airport because my pr card is expired?

It varies by location and application. Have no idea about your case.
that's the thing i don't know also, i'm worry if they don't let me get on board from canada or china or enter vietnam, also i'm worry if i apply for PRTD from vietnam and they don't send me on time before i come back here, i might be stuck over there and i don't know what to do after that.

You will not be allowed to board a flight to Canada without either a valid PR card or PRTD.

There will be no issues leaving Canada, you can leave with an expired card.

Do this:

1. Submit your application for the PR card, then travel.Your new PR card may not come before you leave - if it doesn't, do you have someone in Canada who can FedEx the card to you in Vietnam? Your roommate or partner or someone? If yes, then it's not a big deal because it's quite likely that you will get the card early in August. As long as someone can get the card and send it to you in Vietnam, you're ok.

2. Or, do not apply for the card and apply for a PRTD when you get to Vietnam. It's likely that you will get the PRTD in less than a month, but if you don't you will just have to wait till you get it. You will eventually get it, so there's no need to say "I don't know what to do". Again, the chances are good that you will get the PRTD in less than a month if you submit a complete application as soon as you arrive in Vietnam.

Or, you can choose not to travel at all.

Those are your only choices. No point worrying, you should understand your options and make a decision.
