Is this the ghost update??

This is not a ghost update. A ghost update is when you open your online account and the first page says that your application has been updated. However, there are no changes in your application once you click on the view application link. This means that some work has been done on your application in the background, for example, criminality/security passed.

The mail that you have received is generic response that your file waiting to be reviewed. I don't know the exact implication of this particular response, but it surely is more positive than other generic responses like 'your file requires additional verification', 'we cannot give a date', etc. I can only infer that the file is in queue and would be looked at soon by somebody.

Has your background check started? You can see this by logging into your account online.

That makes sense. In fact, I feel that it is worse to know that your criminality or security is in progress because then the anxiety would kill you. It is better to know that you have passed it.

I am Nov 04 and still in IP1. At this stage it does not matter whether you are in IP1 or IP2 because many people get their PPR the next day even if they are in IP1. The only thing that matters after so many months is the golden mail.

I talked to an agent 3-4 days back , she informed me that background check is in process and criminality, security pending.

Well then someone is probably looking at your file. Don't stress about it now. All of us are at a stage when these things don't matter. If your documents are all good, then sooner or later you will receive the PPR. I am sure that they have a system where they can see all the pending cases and are prioritizing based on some criteria. It is not like they have all paper files and they have misplaced/forgotten about a particular file.

I was also thinking about it a lot till I crossed the 6 month mark. Now I know that it will come when it has to come.

If you get an ADR then that means that somebody is looking at your file. Some people get an ADR and receive PPR within days while some get stuck for months. There are many people who have not got any ADR with their eligibility as met since many months. Their files probably have not been looked at due to some reason.

In short, there is no pattern. ADR/No ADR will not expedite or delay your file. So don't worry if you have received/not received one.

Well as I said, all this information is based experiences of other applicants. It is possible that you may have missed the update as many people miss it, or the update may have not come at all in your account. The update comes for most people though.

The good thing is that you have passed criminality. Let's hope for the best.

Hi, as per what I have read from other applicants, this is a general reply you get when you email to Ottawa VO asking about status of your file...

This is one of the generic replies. There are other replies as well like 'your file requires additional verification', 'we cannot give a timeline', etc. The thing is that whenever you contact them, they have to say something. I have raised a webform 4 times, and 3 times I have got a reply from the support center which really meant nothing. Once I got a reply from the CPC Ottawa saying that my file requires additional verification and they cannot give a timeline.

When i received my GCMS notes, I saw that the support center agent had forwarded the query to CPC Ottawa and that is when they replied. Other 3 times the support center did not forward the query to CPC Ottawa and just sent generic replies stating that everything is in order. I guess they have the discretion to decide when they want to send a reminder.

I have noticed, many First week Nov applicants are still waiting...... Is it true? Der are few applicants from later weeks of Nov, but maximum I think are from first week of nov who are still waiting...... Perhaps they started clearing the backlog in backward direction......

Even I felt that way but if you see the tracker, that is not the case. It is uniformly distributed. It's just that we first week applicants are talking a lot here
