Hi, i just want to ask regarding my the new pathway. I arrived in Alberta 1st week of June 2019 under LCP.. And now that there’s a new pathway that could bring immediate family member for those eligible caregiver. Am i eligible to apply for an Open work permit for my husband?

No. You can’t because you are still under the old program.

You can, however, apply to the new program and hope to be included in the 2750 cap.

Can you please enlighten me about the new program? How does it work? I haven’t heard about the 2750 cap? Thank you..

The new program requires:
- 1 year post secondary education
- job offer from employer
- CLB 5
- admissibility

As you can see, the new program has very low requirements which means many can qualify. I work in an immigration company here in Canada and as early as last year, we already have over 300 clients who qualifies and have already started working on procuring their documents. You have to be quick because CIC will only accept 5500 applications per year (2750 for nanny + 2750 for people with high medical needs). When the cap is met, the program will close and reopen again the following year. But i think it will get tougher every year because every year more and more people will be ready. So, be quick!

If you completed 24 months then caring for children pathway is best for you.

If you finished 12 months work experience in Canada, go with interim. If you finished 24 months, go with the caregiver pathway.

If you are qualified and have the supporting documents ready, apply immediately because there is a cap of 2750/stream. The program says that the work permit processing will take 12 months.. your kid will be almost 1 year old by then.

Hello,
I am done my 24months of experience in April 2019, and applied in new pathways for caring for children. My application was received on 23rd May 2019 but because of Copy of WES document IRCC returned on 13th june. I have attached original WES and sent back to IRCC on 17th June which was received by IRCC on 19th June 2019.
Now I am confuse that IRCC closed that program on 18th June. So IRCC will consider my application on old program? As my application have stamp of 23rd May on envelope, or again it will be returned to me?
