Hello,

So my husbands sister’s husband is a US citizen like I am and they turned in their paper work for PR under spousal without a work permit in November of 2018. Everything for them flew by and and 7months to the date they have PR.

Now me and my husband applied about a month after them (So Dec. 19th it was received) WITH a open work permit and we didnt get our stuff opened till March 29th and we havent heard a thing? So how come their stuff moved SO much faster than ours!? I mean this is crazy! We all live in the same town I dont get why mine is taking so long. I say whats the point of a work permit if you can skip it and get PR in 7 months??

It's very odd that you don't have an approved OWP yet. Did you have valid status in Canada at the time you applied? Are you sure your representative submitted the application when he/she said they did? Is it possible your application was returned because it was incomplete and had to be resubmitted and your representative didn't tell you?
