Hi,
My parents applied for a TRV on 15th May and completed their Bio-metric on 4th June. My dad got a refusal today, while decision for my mom is still pending
My dad TRV was rejected based on the following points :

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

I reviewed his documents and found out. his purpose of visit was very weak, so that's may be one of the reason, but I am, not sure about the 2nd reason.

Me and my parents are travelling for 2 weeks and I have applied a separate visa.

Documents given for dad:
1. Pension Details
2. ITR of 3 years
3. Details of Home Loan
4. My dad is retired but working as an Arbitrator post retirement. He has work commitments post this travel, so attached that.
5. Bank statements

Please Note: The owner of our family house, is my mom. My dad doesn't hold any property in his name , while my mom hold one other land property as well.
The property record clearly state that, the property is owned by my mom who is married to dad. Is it enough?

He has around 26k cad in one bank account. He did not included his other bank accounts , that had less balance.

Can you please suggest , how can I improve my dad's profile? What all documents can be attached?

New Documents which I have asked for are :
1. Property Valuation paper.
2. Bank Balance Certificate.
3. Pension slip and money earned from Arbitration.

What else can I attach?

Dad applied the application on his own. So purpose of letter was very weak. Purpose is just to visit my sister, and travel around toronto.
Do you mean that your father was the primary applicant while your mother was his dependent applicant?

Yup mom is dependant.
With the info you provided, you would have kept the mother primary as she has stronger ties to home with house being in her name. Dad could have been her dependent

Did you include your father's proof of pension and/or retirement?

Property is under my mom's name , but dad paid for it. Is it fine for my dad to include in his proof of property?
1. Your dad does not legally own the property. No, he cannot include it in his application.

2. What ties can your dad demonstrate to India? Do post the list of documents that he submitted.

3. What is the source of the funds in his bank account? Was it earned by him or transferred/borrowed from someone else?

4. Has your dad traveled to other visa-required countries? If yes, for how long and when?

Hi Bryanna,
thanks for your reply.

Answer
1. Since my dad is a primary applicant, but the property is under the name of my mom, is there any legal way to show this? I fear that was one of the reason , why application was rejected.

2. He is working as a arbitrator now , handling cases worth crores. He has upcoming work post trip. So he included that document.

3. He is retired now, but get pension plus a lot of money from Arbitration work. Not borrowed from anyone.

4. Travel history is null.

Hi @Bryanna and @myra20sharma , TRV for my mom also got denied. I have taken the responsibility of creating a strong application for them and need your inputs.
Please note, my dad's previous application had a lot of errors ( in terms of uploading correct documents ).

The following documents were generated for their application. Dad was primary applicant.

Mom Documents:
  1. Visa Application form
  2. Family Info
  3. Passport
  4. Photo
Dad Documents :
  1. Passport
  2. Invitation Letter
  3. Photo
  4. Proof of Means of Financial Support
  5. Marriage License/Certificate
  6. Purpose of Travel - Other
  7. Use of a Family Member Representative for Online Applications (IMM5713)
  8. Family Info
  9. Proof Of Relation

I have few questions :

1. My dad has around 38k cad in his bank account , but he mentioned 6k cad in his application and 6k in mom's visa application. Should I write , 38k cad in both of their visa application ?

2. My mom has her own account and FD and RD ( 24k cad ). Can i include her documents as well. Online application doesn't ask for her Financial Support Documents.

2. Since my dad doesn't own any non-movable property in his name, but paid for it , can I include deductions from his bank account for loan and add house market value document in my mom's name + loan document on Cover letter , where I will try to provide justifications for rejection reasons. He has two cars in his name , worth 24k.
