Hi Folks,

Unfortunetly, My father expired last month and i filled the interest to sponsor for both. My mother was the primary applicant when i filled the interest to sponsor form. Shall a letter explanation to CIC save my chance of getting her PR ( i assume they should be able to understand )

Also, My mother is joining me here in canada as she is all alone back home. I am bringing her on tourist visa. When the biometric & medicals come , is there any chance that can be done in canada ? or she has to travel back home and get it done.

i heard biometric is valid for 10 years. Can we apply her super visa and get biometric done from home country and when CIC request for the biometric we share the same,. she may not need to travel at that moment. Not sure if this is a viable options.

Please help !!

So sorry for your loss. I'd include a letter of explanation and the death certificate with the application package or via CSE if you've already mailed the application.

If you have applied with both options have you sent a letter with application explaining t
Explanation letter is usually required when an applicant can't provide an information/ document. In this case you are going to provide them some additional information which could help IRCC officer, so i don't think an explanation letter for that is require. I didn't mention anything about it in my explanation letter.

I just asked one of my friend in the same boat for you. She said you can contact CIC after you received the application number. That was what they did last year. I am not sure the exact process. Hope well.

So i've just had an interesting conversation with a IRCC officer who informed me that I would not be able to track the progress of the application form via the ECAS website, even if you are listed as a representative. From what she told me, you will only be able to track the application once you have been given an application number which you then link to the my account website. Apparently, anyone trying to look at their status via the ECAS website will not get a true reflection of the PGP application status. Can anyone confirm if they have been told differently?

Very sorry to hear about the loss! I really hope that your Mom gets PR sooner

You can also apply only for your Mom, just provide an explanation letter with the application package, also provide copy of the death certificate of your Father.

The IRCC website says that for PR 'You’ll need to give your biometrics and pay the fee each time you apply, even if you gave your biometrics in the past for another application'.

So your Mom will have to get her Biometrics done for PR application, even if if she gets that done for her Tourist-Visa.

The 10 years validity is only for Visitor visa, study and work permit applicants. Check the below link:

Should I only submit NOA for last three years? Or should I also submit NOA along with T4 for the last three years?

T4s are not required, the IRCC is interested to see the amount mentioned in line 150 of NOAs, so just provide NOAs. You can also provide IRCC your SIN, but T4s are not required for sure!

Good morning, I have a question about the processing fee here. If I am only applying for my mom, I do not need to pay the processing fee for my dad if he is not coming to Canada, correct?
Even though, I need to fill out all the information required for my dad because he is my mom's spouse. Can anyone please help me confirm if this is correct? Thank you!

This is correct. ECAS is slower than myCIC.
Again please refer to Post #7747 on Pg 517

Hi everyone, I am in the process of filing the application for my mother's PR - have a confusion regarding her Birth Certificate.
Do we have to submit her Birth Certificate ??? or just my birth certificate will be enough to prove my relationship with her ?
