Sponsorship for spouse

Hey, me and my boyfriend have been together for 4.5 years now and I am a PR who moved to Canada a year ago. We want to get married and I want to sponsor him. My question is, when we apply for everything, how long will it take for him to get a work permit and how long for the PR? Is it faster to apply with a lawyer?

Not faster with a lawyer. 12 months target for PR although sometimes faster and 3-5 months for OWP.
