I’m looking into flying to Canada, I wasn’t sure if it would be possible for me to enter without a problem. Because my permanent resident card expired in 06 and I only have traveling paperwork & my green card from the Us . I was born in Bolivia but adopted by Canadians.Would anyone have some information to provide me? Thank you

My mom never applied for my citizenship but I found out when I was trying to apply for the immigration in United States, I re-enter Canada in 2006 with my Bolivian passport & green card from the Us.

This doesn’t make sense. Did you immigrate to Canada with Bolivians that had PRs that become Canadians? What age were you when you were adopted? Where have you lived for the past 5 years? Don’t believe you can fly without a US passport or PRTD.

I was 3 months old when I was adopted by Canadians (my family) & I moved to Florida when I was 18 years old & applied for my permanent resident card in Us after I got married. I have been living in the Us since then I’m trying to get information about re-applying for my Canadian permanent resident .

Still doesn’t make sense since adopted children should get citizenship. You remain a permanent resident but if you are reported once you arrive in Canada you can lose that because you haven’t met your residency requirement of living 2 out of 5 years in Canada.

How old are you? You can't fly to Canada with an expired PR card. You would need to apply for a PR Travel Document. How long have you lived in Canada in the last five years?

my mom decided not to apply for citizenship when I was young. I had no idea so I tried to get my passport when I was processing my application for immigration in Us. I found out I wasn’t a citizen. I don’t know what is the next step to go in Canada & request a PRTD

Based on one of your posts above saying that you are now married, a PRTD is not going to be approved. You are at this point far too old to claim H&C reason for failing to meet the residency requirement.

Your only option for keeping / saving your PR status is as follows:
1) Re-enter Canada through a land border (you cannot fly) and avoid being reported by CBSA for failing to meet the residency requirement.
2) Live in Canada for two years straight to meet the residency requirement.
3) Apply to renew your PR card once these two years have passed.

Note that you will not be able to sponsor your family for PR and bring them to Canada until after the two years have passed and you meet the residency requirement.
