There is another thing. WES evaluated my 2 year MS in BITS Pilani (WILP) as 1 year PG diploma. I lost 7 points because of this. Is it possible to ask WES for reasoning or reevaluate the ECA report ?

I think they did the right thing. Guys, we need to put a stop somewhere.

WILP is a correspondence course. Indian two-year regular masters programs don't get a Masters from WES so how can we expect a correspondence course to get so?

I had this doubt because I have seen in quora and in this forum a few people who have done WILP have received ECA as Masters. Hence, I felt it was unfair that few people get this as Masters and few people get as PG diploma.

The targets that have been published are for ADMISSIONS into Canada, not ITAs, that's why last year, although the target admissions level was ~75000, by December they had issued a whopping 89,800 ITAs

People reject ITAs for all sorts of reasons, and people are rejected in their applications as well.
If just 10% of people who are issued ITAs either reject them or denied; your 80000 ITA target in reality becomes 88,888 actual ITAs being issued, which means using your logic
88,888 - 31250 = 57638 / 16 = 3602 ITAs every 2 weeks, an increase on the 3,350 number

Exactly! You're right mate. Regardless of the given targets, CIC always extends it. Because only then the estimated targets can be achieved. Its a general tactic, if you'll keep your hopes and targets high, only then desired results can be witnessed.

@keyur sharma you can never be certain about the whole year. Sooner or later, your claims will be falsified by CIC for sure. Last year nobody even imagined that the score would drop below 440, but it did. Even in this year it happened too. So, CIC is always prone to such things and comes out with surprises. I highly doubt your presence after that.

Moreover, talking about the elections thing, new rules cannot be imposed immidiately. It needs to get through plenty of the documentations, authentications and yes/no from the other peers. So, The conservatives would need atleast 3-6 months span to settle down and understand the current scenarios by then. So, if the changes will be done, those will occur in 2020 only, not this year.

You are a Lawyer, right? So, you should know about these things, the implementation of the rules takes time!

Correct. 4 year MS in BITS Pilani (WILP) is considered as Masters. My friend just got it from WES.

Exactly! In addition, one of the main reason why we saw, previous years, more ITAs than the target is 600+ candidates, through PNP nomonation. This year, they, 600+, have been 10-12% and, therefore, we would witness a minimum of 15% extra ITAs than the target. It had been around 120% in not only 2017 but also 2018.

I have maxed out in IELTS. My spouse could write again to get 2 or 3 more points.

In your case, your spouse should try to gain 2 or 3 points.

Based on your knowledge, could you let me know, roughly when there is a probability to receive ITA for the above score, depending on the way the scores are being released. This would help me plan a rough timeline for myself. Thank you very much.

Very hard to say, but CIC may surprise us all the time. If you can, try to do 1 year diploma study.

450 should be coming in next 2 draws, Just wait for next draw and decide if you want to take ielts

Ielts is not fun and expensive plus no guarantee the score will better

I know I may hurt your feeling ~ It will take a long time to reach 441 (or even not by current trend)
