Hello to all my colleagues over here

Another step further in the process with an oath invitation letter as of Thursday April 25th to attend the Canadian Citizenship Ceremony on May 13th

This is happening as I pray for everyone here for a smooth & positive outcome to their files and may all of you fulfill what you came for :)

I just have a question for those with experience reading or hearing from others about how fast to get the passport processed after Citizenship Oath as I have travel date coming June 2nd and I know calling Passport Canada that I have to wait at least till the 3rd business day after Oath to apply for passport which means I will be left with exactly 2 weeks before my planned travelling.

My question is about when to apply and shall Passport Canada accept my application as Urgent with a proof of a booked flight. Also what errors to avoid not to have to resend application back.

Thanks & all my best wishes for all of you :)

Moori,

I too have a travel plan to travel on May 12th. I took the oath last Friday, April 26th and that left me with less than 2 weeks to apply. The agent told me I can try to apply on Monday but Tuesday for sure. If you're lucky and have access to apply in person, it will take roughly 10 business days for the normal process. An urgent request would speed that up to 24 hours while express request will be between 2- 9 business days. If I apply on Tuesday, my only realistic option is to do an urgent request. I hope they will accept it. Obviously, I'll expense this extra cost to my company.

In your case, you should have enough time applying in person using the normal route, no urgent/express request needed. I applied for my newborn child's first passport (already Canadian) earlier this year in person and it took exactly 10 business days.

Hope this help.

On Friday 26th, I took the oath of citizenship with my family. It was a humbling but most grateful moments. Thank you for everyone on this forum, you have been super helpful. I have not only used resources and discussion here to help myself but to help others not on this forum who are seeking for answers.

I pray for speed for everyone expecting one milestones or the other. Keep believing, the best is yet to come!
Congratulations! Enjoy your new found status.:)

Has anyone gone through "APNA TORONTO" website to prepare for the test? if yes, could you please advise if I can solely depend on the quizzes they test?

Greatly appreciate your responses!

Thats what i tried telling changing ur address wont automatically transfer ur file or speed it up. As long as it is in mississauga u r screwed and getting it out of there will even longer as u will have to send in a letter requesting transfer due to change in ur location and depending when they see that letter and decide to transfer is another case. So my two cents just be patient and do nothing

Got a phone call today. Oath invitation for 17th May. Please update the sheet.
Wow congratulations! That is the first time I have heard of a telephone call for an Oath ceremony. Thank you for letting everyone know, that is another avenue for applicants to be aware of. Brilliant news. Good luck with your Oath ceremony. Spreadsheet updated. :):)
