Hey everyone,
My wife was asked by VO Amman to produce the following document:
- civil registration of your marriage

I'm not sure we understand what that is and how different it is from a marriage certificate.

Background:
I'm Canadian and I live in Montreal, my wife is Iraqi who lives in Iraq. We got married in Jordan, and produced a marriage certificate that is stamped and certified by the civil court there. We have ofcourse provided CIC with the marriage certificate when we submitted the application.

Let me know what ideas you guys have for this document.

Hi, after we got married in Costa Rica I had to register that marriage certificate (translated into English, of course) in Canada before it was a recognized marriage in Canada. Is this possibly what they are looking for?

It's not public information. For a while it seemed to be only visa exempt applications but that's not the case anymore. They do seem to only keep straightforward apps but that doesn't mean if you have a straightforward app you wouldn't be transferred. We were as straightforward as it comes and still transferred. This was back when Ottawa was processing, but same idea.

I called them again today. CSR was very rude. He said your file is in process, and we received your additional documents if we need more information officer will contact you.
