No. BGC is Security Screening. The difference is how each one takes.
That might be so... but you know what’s happening around here, many if not all applicants are using SS to denote their comprehensive Security Screening.. That’s why it’s confusing.

Btw You mentioned your SS start date but when was it that your background check start?

I had the same but S.15 has nothing to do with SS.Hello everyone,
I’m new to this group, but not new to the process
Below are my details:
Category: FSW
AOR: 19 August 2018
Medicals: Passed on 11 Sep
Eligibility: Passed
Criminality: Passed
Security Screening: I believe this is in process right now as I can see S15 code on my GCMS notes, with 12 activities mentioned under this.
Number of dependents: 1 (Spouse)
VO office: Ottawa
I’m an Indian based in UAE and today my application completes 8 months. My consultant believes our application is taking time because of security screening as we have travelled quite a bit, especially my husband who has travelled to 38 countries for both leisure and work.
Just wanted to check if there is anyone with a similar profile when it comes to travel or seeing the code s15 on GCMS notes.
This has been quite a patience-testing phase, as I’m sure is the case for all of us.
Good luck to us all.
S15 may not necessarily means SS. However 12 activities under this code can be an indicator for it.Hello everyone,

Received PR. Took around 10 months from AoR(Apr’18) to PPR(Feb’19).
Yes 70+ trips in the last 10 yrs. Most of them were done when I was based in Dubai and travelling within the GCC, EU, North America. I applied for the PR when moved to Canada as a CECCongrats on getting the PR, I’m sure those last couple of months of wait wasn't easy. If you don’t mind me asking, did you also have a lot of travel history? Just trying to understand the cause of delay. Thanks!
Discrimination is not randomly decided and discrimination is called so because it doesn't need a reason.Same! wonder how they randomly decide to screen all pakistanis!
Thanks Pris...
My CIC status reads:

But it has been more than 6 months since my application has been submitted(July 2018).... It was under process in Nova Scotia and has now moved to NVDO.... I was hopeful that I am close to getting PPRYour background check has not started yet. Once it start the word "progress" will changed to "processing".
