Such a win for ON comparing their applications finalizing processing time vs. province population and obviously number of applicants. QC is failing in every corner except family benefits and welfare. If you don't have a child, stay away from QC if you want your life to move faster.

I got my dm on ecas and emails of landing in etobicoke office ok march 29th but i have no update on my interview date so far. Getting worried
I’m in the same boat!
@ldoell and @Freshboi are Sep 13 applicants from Toronto with DMs on Mar 29 as well and got theirs last Thursday and Friday. So you will be getting yours on or before Friday. Etobicoke is nice and fast, and I am jelly... :p

Vancouverites who received DMs on March 29 are looking around May 10 or 13 for our invitations to come in and the interview between June 10 to 28

Another US applicant here. I am currently on a post grad work permit and traveled back to the US no problem after submitting my application. As long as you can validly re-enter Canada there should be no issues, I opened my passport to my work permit like normal, he asked what kind of work I do I told him and said I was waiting on my PR application. He says "oh yeah those can take a while" then waives us through.

Any reason they wouldn't let you back into Canada would probably also be reason to decline your PR if you were sitting here not traveling anyway.

The only time I have heard you should not travel outside of Canada if at all avoidable is between the time of receiving your confirmation of PR after your landing interview and when you get your PR card. You can use the CoPR when crossing by land, but you have to file additional paperwork if traveling by air once you leave Canada, so really just a bit of a hassle but you can still do it.

I am more familiar with the US immigration than here but I feel like there is a lot of overlap. So correct me if I'm wrong. I know that in the states, if you were adjusting your status, unless you came in on a visa that gave you residency status (even if temp), like student visa or work visa, you couldn't travel. However, if you did come in on such a visa, you were permitted to come in and out of the country. Coming in on a visitor status meant non-residency status, which meant that upon your re-entry, you could be denied entry for any reason, whatever they choose, since there is no right of entry of visitors. Therefore, you'd be abandoning your status.

I wonder if you were able to travel in and out of Canada because of your post-grad work visa? This allows you re-entry rights, more so than a visitor. My husband came in as a visitor. Although, I would assume you are correct (only makes sense) that so long as you would be granted entry into Canada as a visitor, there is no reason to not be granted entry just because you have a PR application pending, he still doesn't have a right of re-entry on a visitor status. Which then leads me to wonder, now that he has been given a work visa through our PR application, would that give him (stronger) entry rights pending application?

Hi Everyone,
I am the principal applicant and my husband is the sponsor.
In ECAS, it shows Sponsor - Decision made but doesnt show any details just that the application start processing on October
In cic.gc - Principal Applicant - My acount shows medical not completed but eligibility passed.

Sponsor doesnt have cic.gc.ca account , should we create one for him? how will we known if deciison made was accept or refused. Just curious

Sponsor approval is separate. I'd check ECAS to see what the status is of your sponsor's half. If no decision has been made yet, it will be soon. Hang in there, you're almost done!
Hi, I just checked ECAS, it shows decision made under Sponsor approval.
However, my husband never received an email or letter.
What does it mean?
Does it mean they are just waiting for my medicals and after that I will get the PR.

We got 10 people like you who never received SA letter but just had a DM on eCAS, and 1 or 2 people received SA letter after they did their interview and got their CoPR ;)

Your sponsor can open his own cic.gc account but he would not be able to see the status because only one person (the PA) can add the application.

If you really wanna find out, contact the Call Centre but it really is unnecessary unless he has something to worry like a crazy criminal history and/or was on social assistance.

So you got nothing to worry :p It's just a succesfull completion of your medical now.
