Hello,

I would like to know what applications are processed faster, the ones sent by Xpresspost or those sent by another curier service like UPS or FedEx.

Also, is Xpresspost considered a curier service or mail?

To which address is it better to send the application for it to be processed faster?
P.O. box or the street address?

Is there some way to write or let the ICC now that someone needs their application really to be start processed fast? I really would like to avoid having the application sitting there unopened for 8 or 9 months.
I need RAMQ before November due to a pregnancy and for my husband's sake and we will send the application by the end of April.

Is it realistic that they will start processing it in 2- 3 months after they receive it and that I can get access to RAMQ before November or is that not likely to happen?

Is there anything we could do, like talking to the MP or something else, to let them now it is an urgent matter to start processing the application in such a way that I can get the Certificat du Selection du Québec?

Someone of CACI (a Support Center for Immigrant Communities) told us that they had a spousal sponsorship who got the permanent residency after only 7 months.

Thanks in advance for your help and may God bless you.

How you send the application in has no impact on how quickly it's processed.

An MP cannot speed up the processing of the application and there is no urgent processing for spousal sponsorship application.

Yes - we do see some cases that are processing in six months. This applies to outland cases (not inland) and is impacted by your country of origin. It sounds like you are applying inland - so you should be expecting processing to take 12 months.

I can't comment on how quickly you'll be RAMQ if your application is sent at the end of April. I'm sure someone else will be able to tell you.

You are unlikely to get RAMQ by november. Like oteher women who have gotten pregnant before or while applying for sponsorship you have to be prepared to pay for your birth. No difference in procesing time between couriers and no favourism for pregnant women. Many women deliver in their home country, without their partner in Canada or have to pay for their care because they are still waiting for spousal sponsorship. It is quite common.

I particularly liked when you said Montreal was more expensive than Switzerland:)

Wouldn't agree at all. 6 months is usuay reserved for uncomplicated US spouse. Sometimes Europe but depends on the circumstances. 6 months is pretty rare so people should antipate closer to 12 months.

Some are getting DM and
PPR from December 2018 and January 2019. The Government favours a certain group and until I see data to show how they determine what applications go to Mississauga and why, im going to have my opinion. I say this this with frustration as some people are still waiting for any communication from IRCC and are eeaching 12 months

I don't think they favor anyone. It's just a matter of luck

Arranged marriages tend to have a much higher chance of needing an interview and not being able to do inland because a spouse can't get a TRV.

Arranged marriages are possible within Canada itself if both are living here
The majority of arranged marriages don't involve 2 Canadian citizens. The marriages are also rarely done in Canada. Some spouses are lucky enough to be able to get a TRV, usually before the wedding, so they can apply inland. It is a relatively small percentage.

it doesn't necessarily mean citizens. For eg it can be between a student and a citizen arranged by student's uncle living in Canada

Of course you don't get to go to the front of the line because you chose to get pregnant without having health coverage.

Hello,

well Canada is more expensive then Switzerland, because salaries are higher there and you pay less taxes, so you have much more money at the end.
And in Switzerland and also in Europe no family has to go into debt for having a baby. This is unheard of. And Canada is awful in this aspect, specially toward canadian men who marry foreign women. It is very unfair for my husband who had paid so many thousands upon thousands of taxes to Canada and Québec and now he has to pay for his baby to come to the world. While the government spends money on so many useless things that don't help anyone. More than a third of his salary is going towards taxes. And for what? Healthcare is bad here. Streets are in a horrible condition. Education is not among the best in the world either. And Québec specially is one of the provinces that had the most taxes in the world. Not in Canada, in the world. Sorry if I think Canada should improve in that and not make life difficult for families living, working and paying taxes here instead of punishing people for marrying someone not from here. And Québec too should lower it's taxes. Many other countries don't have so much taxes and have much better services. And if I believe nobody in the world should go into debt in order to have a baby! This is just evil! An abortion which is murder is cheaper than to give birth! And maybe you are just not aware, but Canadians are amongst the ones who have the highests debts in the western world. The average debt of a canadian us 22.000$. Also study in Canada is very expensive compared to Europe, where some of the best universities are.
And did you know, even giving birth for the royal family in England does not cost as much as giving birth in many canadian hospitals!

Y'know, I had to do some research there and it turns out you are right, overall (besides a wealth tax and higher property taxes) people in Switzerland pay less taxes. Learned something new today.

However, Switzerland is much more expensive to live in than Canada. I am unsure of where you recieved your sources from, can you please provide them?

https://www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living/country/comparison/canada/switzerland

Here it states Switzerland is 46% more expensive to live in than Canada. I have more sources, if you wanna discuss.

  1. Switzerland - 126.03
  2. Norway - 118.59
  3. Venezuela - 111.01
  4. Iceland - 102.14
  5. Denmark - 100.60
  6. Australia - 99.32
  7. New Zealand - 93.71
  8. Singapore - 93.61
https://ceoworld.biz/2019/01/22/most-expensive-countries-in-the-world-to-live-in-2019/

Again, Switzerland tops the list for the most expensive countries to live in.

Besides that, I'm sorry you feel that way about my home. There are things that are obviously up for discussion and things that we all feel should be different but I love my country very much. I had a friend who lived in Switzerland for a very long time and did not like the high cost of living, the ridiculous rules and structure, extremely high cost of childcare, etc. Every country has their flaws and so does yours.

I think coming onto Canadian forums and bashing Canada isn't the best idea, especially randomly bringing up abortion rights? Seriously?

You seem like someone who is just out for an arguement and I will not waste my time (nor should anyone else on here) debating with you on what Canada should or shouldn't have, nor do I care.

This is a forum for those who wish to immigrate to Canada and need help doing so. There are a lot of people who wish they could come to Canada (and have also given up a lot to do so) and your mindset is negative and flawed. Perhaps try to be grateful for what you have at this moment as it insults each and every member on this forum who is trying to achieve a better life.

I personally would never give you advice. You should do us all a favor and move back to Switzerland and give a person who genuinely wants to live in this beautiful country a chance because if there's one thing I can't stand, it's an ungrateful person.

Thanks for your input.
