Hello all, my wife and I received an ITA in April 2019. We are currently in the process of completing documentation. My wife is the primary applicant. I have a multiple-entry Canadian business/tourist visa for 10 years. Logically speaking, since some background verification of mine has already taken place, will we get PPR faster? Anyone else been in the same situation?

Nope. There are some inland applicants who live in Canada who get selected for more comprehensive Security Screening.

Your visa will not affect processing time.

It doesn't affect PR application at all. Simply beacuse the details needed to process a TRV is much lower since it's a low-risk visa entry program when compared to a high-risk visa program like PR.

You will however need to mention this detail somewhere in your application, especially when asked ''did you apply before to come to Canada'' question. Also, make sure that when you are scanning your current passport you include the counterfoil.

IRCC could essentially look into your file where this visa was processed into and compare details or extract some notes. But don't think that it may give you any edge, it's just nice to have but really won't expedite your process at all.
