I am looking for research jobs recently. I look up NOC type on cic website. I am not sure a research assistant position in a research institute affiliated with U of T falls in NOC 4012. The successful candidate will work on research projects focused on developing innovative medical image analytics, artificial intelligence, and novel deep learning solutions as well as statistical predictive models for diagnosis (identification, detection, and classification) and prognosis (survival analysis) of different types of cancer such as prostate and pancreatic cancer using MRI and CT modalities. She/he will work effectively with the lab members to produce high quality research, algorithms, codes, manuscripts, and documents.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Algorithm Design and Development for Medical Image Analysis, Machine Learning, and Statistical Modeling Solutions Design and Development of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning-driven Solutions for Medical Imaging for Cancer Diagnosis and Prognosis Biomedical Image and Data Analytics for Risk-Stratified Cancer Care Computational Diffusion MRI for Cancer Detection Medical database collection and management using Microsoft Access Preparing scientific manuscripts and reports Perform necessary quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of the research data Contribute to the efficient day-to-day operations of the lab
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: BSc (or final year student) or MSc degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering or related fields Strong background in machine (deep) learning and statistical analysis Strong background in artificial intelligence-driven solutions for medical imaging Strong background in medical image analysis and multi-parametric MRI Strong scientific programming skills with Python (deep learning libraries and architectures), Matlab, C# Prior research-based publication Excellent technical writing for scientific publications Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to work well with a team and to use initiative in achieving goals Ability to understand and interpret scientific data Good understanding of medical terminology and research methods High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
