Advice on ECA for MBA from Symbiosis

Hi, few questions regarding ECA, Pls. clarify:
1. I have done my MBA from SITM which comes under Symbiosis International University(SIU), is this university recognized ?
2. Which organization is should go for ECA ? Who will give me Masters equivalency for my MBA ?

While filling form i can see SIU and SITM both in the drop down, but in equivalency link i don't see any of the them mentioned.

Pls. advice anyone

As far as I know, SITM and SIU are recognized by WES (although the equivalency tool dosent show SIU). However, WES has changed their policy in June 2018 and now they award regular MBA of 2 years as 1 Year post graduate diploma . Masters is awarded to MBA which is either of 3 years or completed from IIMs/IITs. My application for same credentials - MBA from SITM is under final review by IQAS, will keep you posted. hope this helps.

Hi,
Thanks for your inputs.
So, u have chosen IQAS over others like WES, ICES etc...
Any specific reason for IQAS ? I have seen that the process is same, however it takes 5 months for evaluation compared to 1 month for WES and 3 months for others

WES no more awards Masters to MBA hence did not opt for. ICES, CES and ICAS mostly require university to send the transcripts while IQAS accepts documents sent by applicants. Even CES and others are slow compared to WES but comparable to IQAS.

I am still preparing for my ielts and thought of parallely doing ECA. With masters not being awarded by WES, there will be a 7 points difference as per CRS calculation. Hope IQAS recognises us as masters

2. I should be sending all thet docume in a big envelope or transcripts should be directly send by the University? Did SIU send directly in Ur case ?


Below is written on their website

Credentials you need assessed
For an ECA, only your highest completed / awarded educational credential needs to be assessed.If you need more than one credential to be assessed, it will take at least four weeks longer than average processing times.

  • official transcripts for all years of study should be sent directly to IQAS by your school or the responsible issuing authority. If your school will not send transcripts directly, you may forward a sealed envelope with the official transcripts you obtained from your school. The transcripts must be attested, dated, and placed in a sealed envelope that is stamped with the institution’s official seal across the back flap

1) My suggestion would be to send both - bachelors and masters transcripts to be on safer side.
2) I sent my documents in a single envelope. However if you decide to send by yourself, please do mention a note in IQAS application form.You can check with SIU if you want them to send the documents as am not sure whether they send it.

That's great, congratulations!
Now I can enter into the pool.

I am yet to start my ECA, either IQAS or WES(in option only as it takes lesser time). I want to get into the pool asap because I am not sure what october elections have in store for us.
If I start IQAS now, September I should be able to complete my ECA pricess

Hi Buddy I am in the same boat, I have done MBA from SCIT, and getting my ECA done from IQAS.
I applied on 14th Nov 2018 and all my documents (Btech , MBA transcripts etc) reached IQAS by 24th Dec 2018. Now my current status says waiting for Transcripts which was updated last on 9th March 2019, before that it was Pending.

By when can i expect my ECA to be completed ? Can you share your timelines?
