Hello everyone. I received my PGWP last January but I found there were conditions that I'm not allowed to work at the education area and hospital etc. Since I have another Canadian 2 year-program diploma in early child hood education and found an interesting position, I wanted to remove the condition so I can also work for that area. So I went to the border with all necessary documents including the up-front medical exam but the agent said they cannot reissue the PGWP at the border because PGWP is the once in a life time. He said I should reapply by online only. I submitted my new application to the work permit extension with new employment category . It was just same process as PGWP application but indicating that I want to remove the conditions. My question is whether I can work at the child care while it is being processed or I should wait until I get the new PGWP. If someone who had the same experience or has source can share the accurate information, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

You can't work in the excluded occupations until you have actually been issued an approved work permit change.
