Sponsoring my husband from Ukraine. Our old file submitted in Oct of 2016 had no luck and in March 2018 we withdrew the application even though the record requested by the immigration lawyer was absolutely "clean" when we got it in Aug of 2018 after withdrawal. The reason to withdraw - personal. Emotional collapse and nervous breakdown. I know it was probably a bad thing, but nothing could be done at that point and we resubmitted a new package on October 3rd, 2018.

Oct 5th - Application received by Sydney
Jan 16, 2019 - AOR
Feb 2, 2019 - Letter received requesting biometric fees to be paid
Feb 4, 2019 - payment confirmation with the receipt has been submitted to CIC
Feb 5, 2019 - Letter requesting Medexam received
Feb 7, 2019 - letter advising I met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor
Feb 14, 2019 - Letter advising that the docs of my husband were transferred for processing to Canadian Consulate in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Feb 21, 2019 - medexam completed
Mar 1, 2019 - Notice in the online account that the medical results have been received.

We were supposed to receive a letter with the instructions to do biometrical collection/finger prints, but since Feb 4th when we sent a copy of the receipt for bio fees - NOTHING came yet.
Do you know if it is normal? Did anyone had similar experience as to being requested to pay the bio fees and never got any further instructions to actually do it?

Does the CIC stick with their promise of 12 months processing times now or not really?

I would appreciate if someone could share your experience.

Thank you!

Hi guys, I just had biometrics completed. My question is... do I need to send in a copy of the papers that I received from the VAC center after my biometrics were done ? Or will the biometrics be sent to the VO by the VAC (Biometric Center) ?
No, biometrics will be sent entirely digitally by the VAC (usually they appear in GCKey on the same day).

Thank you for responding. I checked both GCKey and ECAS and the Medical Exam was received and passed.

Is it safe to say - since I haven’t received any Biometric Request up to now that it doesn’t apply to me?

Regards
Hmmm... can't predict on that. Cuz, each case is so different. Will hope for the best..

Good luck!

Hello Everyone,

On February 27th I received a message for my Medical Examination, I scheduled an appointment on March 6th and completed it. I called yesterday and they’ve indicated the results came back and will upload the results to CIC.

My question is - Do you receive a notification on CIC indicating that you’re results are uploaded and passed?

I’m yet to receive a message to carry out my biometrics, which is troubling since my husband and I will be moving to Halifax by the end of the month (tickets has purchased already). Or does the biometrics requirements does not apply to me.

I’ve read the following (I’m from the Caribbean) -

The biometrics requirements take effect as follows for citizens from non-exempt countries:

    • Starting July 31, 2018 – applicants from Europe, Middle East and Africa
    • Starting December 31, 2018 – applicants from Asia, Asia Pacific and the Americas

Any responses on this will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards.

If you're from the Caribbean and your application was received before December 31, 2018 you shouldn't have to provide biometrics at this time.

Hey guys, just to give you all an update.

We finally got our PPR on March 12.
Submitted passport on the 14th.

No changes/updates on eCAS and GCkey since Feb 27 though. PPR email was sent to PA, not sponsor/GCkey email account.

So those who sent out additional documents, you guys just have to be patient.
Congratulations! And thanks for sharing this update :)

Ok, thanks. It's weird because we had the biometrics done on Mar.6 and still haven't had any update or heard anything yet. Should I be concerned or need to make a phone call to anyone ?

Hi all,
I got some updates. My wife did her Biometrics and Medicals on the first week of March. On March 13th, I received the sponsorship approval letter and Today (15th) I received a notification letter that her application for permanent residency has been transferred to Ankara Office.

Hi,
I have passed medical exam and biometric completed. My application was transferred to visa office Rome on Feb. but I haven’t received the email about eligibility, as I see some people have received this email before their application were transferred. Is this normal?
I will really appreciate every reply.
