Yesterday called CIC and agent said eligibility recommended pass.
I haven't seen any ghost update after medicals and Biometrics.

Is it a good sign? should I order gcms notes?

What is your stream and where is the visa office? My AOR is Dec 21th (PNP-inland), I called IRCC last Wednesday, criminality under process and eligibility hasn't started. Visa office: Etobicoke.

Thank you for sharing this; I appreciate that a lot of people will find it helpful. However, isn't it also true that IRCC requires you to report such changes in circumstance immediately, so could it not be somehow detrimental to withhold such important information from them (as having married someone) until whatever opportune time you deem fit to reveal it? (I am simply speculating.)

They will not recalculate anything because this is a life event. You can add while in processing or Post PPR.

I am in this boat. I got married after getting AOR. Even though I can add her now, But I will add my spouse after I get my PPR.

I am doing this upon my friend's suggestion. Even he did the same thing.

He got married after applying PR. In the PPR email IRCC will ask to report if there are any changes in your marital status, address, child birth's or death of any person included in the application. At that time you can inform them IRCC that you got married after applying PR.

So my friend added his spouse after getting PPR. They simply reopened his application and processed his spouse as well and again sent a new PPR requesting both of their passports. IRCC took another 45 days I guess to add spouse and send another PPR.

Advantages of this process:-

1. Firstly your processing will not get disturbed. Try to complete your process smooth and get PPR.
2. The only documents you need to submit is legal marriage certificate, some wedding photos, medicals of your spouse and PCC of all countries she lived for more than 6 months. My friend submitted only these docs it seems. No need to submit her ECA's, work experience letters, IELTS etc...
3. Your CRS score will not get impacted.

Bottom line - This is a life event which happend like that after applying to PR.

But end of the day it's your decision to add spouse while your PR is in processing or post PPR. You can do it either way.

I thought of getting my PPR first and then add my spouse. So I am doing in this way.

1. In ur case CIC wont ask u like if u got married one month before PPR why u didn’t add spouse that time?

2. What if visa is stamped on my passport, can i add spouse before landing ?

Guys I need some advice. I have to be in Canada by September to attend some classes. I am pretty much doubtful that the PR would be processed by then. If I go under visitor Visa and if I do get a PPR while I am there, what am I supposed to do. I have 3 dependents who will be staying back in India what about their passport submition? And by December my medicals and police certificate will expire what if the process still is in progress will I have to give medicals and PCC again? Thanks in advance.

September is another 5-6 months from now. What makes you doubt that you will not get a decision by then? And more so until December?
Stamping isn’t an issue after you’ve informed IRCC so that you can get yours done in Canada while your dependents can submit their passports to VFS in India.

I really don't think so. They cannot reject saying "why are you informing now after issuing PPR? why not before?". If that is the intention IRCC will not ask you to report any marital changes while issuing PPR.

So I think if a life event happen between after AOR and before issuing PPR, you can report while PR is in processing and after issuing PPR also.

One of my friend in canada also told me that I will get chance to update details like marriage, birth, death, divorce etc... after getting PPR email. also.

I don't think so they will do that. If that is the case they will not ask you report changes while sending PPR email.

My case is similar. Agent informed that only security is now in process which shouldn’t take long. No ghost updates or changes noted online since MEP/Biometrics.
