I just called CIC and spoke to an agent regarding my CEC express entry. My AOR is August 12th and I still haven’t received any emails. My security is cleared, eligibility under review and criminality in progress. They said estimated time of completion is June 25th which is crazy long.

Any reason why your RR is under review?

Do anyone have any idea about the specific time of the day when Ottawa Office sends PPR mail? Thanks.

I managed to get through to an agent at CIC when I called up earlier and had an interesting conversation. I asked the agent to go through the file to give me an update on the status of my application and was informed that:

Eligbility Cleared
Criminality Cleared
Security Check Not Started

So the agent informed me that he would contact the concerned case officer and request for an update on my file and that I might receive an update either through my CIC account or by mail. The whole conversation was a big relief for me.

However, the funny part is when I had asked for an update using the online web form, I had received the following reply which was just before I managed to get in touch with the CIC agent:

The responsible office is currently verifying if your application meets the eligibility requirements
The background verifications are not in process yet.

So basically the update I received using the web form was definitely outdated and this could be the possible scenario for others as well. It would be better for everyone to get in touch with a CIC agent and get an update rather than rely on the inaccurate responses when using the web form.

Really odd, maybe try ordering GCMS?

Hi Everyone,

New to this with a wife and 10 month old child waiting to join me here in Canada. I submitted a paper application for outland PR and was receive Aug 21, 18. Its dated Oct 3 for submitted. My progress bar says there's 5 month left. But it doesn't look like they even touched their file. Everytime says "we are in the process.... will send message.... we do not need.... will send message..." Even the reviewing your application is the same. I'm not really good with abbreviations so please try to minimize the use of them. Thank you all in advance

Hi, u won't be seeing much changes thru ur clg account.
What is ur background check message showing there at the moment?
What is the status of medical checks showing?
There are lotta backlogs in CIC at the moment however u will not get to know the actual summary of ur case file unless u order gcms notes. U can also give the CIC client agent centre a buzz using Google hangouts or skype and find out on the below specifically..

**Office that's handling ur file.
** status of eligibility check
** criminality check
** security check
** any kind of review required or complications shown.

I guess they run batches. Its not a manual process

Weird? Sure. But that's when PPRs are sent.

Just got ready for visa mail
My Aor is 9 aug 2018
Background check initiated on dec 7 2018
Called cic thrice.
On 22 feb 2019 , they told me security process might have completed.
On 28 feb got the ready for visa mail but was not awared.
Today again called cic, they told me to check spam and there it was.

Finally received "Ready for Visa" mail. My timeline is in the signature.

My wife (dependent) moved to Canada after AOR so she cant submit her passport in India. what all options do we have?

I understand I can send an email with the request to change visa office for the passport for the dependent.

So, should I submit my passport in India and send an email for change in vfs for my wife?

There is no mention of the dependent in the COPR mail so how to submit dependent passport ?

I am re-posting my post hoping someone can share his/her experience/knowledge:
As I live in Yangon, Myanmar, I submitted my passport to VFS here on 21 Feb 19. They have sent it to IRCC-Singapore for visa stamping and COPR. VFS on-line status has been that it's in process there since 25 Feb 19. When can I expect to get my passport back? What will my IRCC online status show after COPR is issued?

When the visa is glued to your passport and your COPR issued you will see a line added like this :

Document Status

Name Unique Client Identifier (UCI) Document Document number Status Expiry date Status Updated Date Travel document Number Country of Issue

The type of document is : Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR)
Once you land : Counterfoil
