Hi,

My wife and myself are Indian nationals. My wife's PR application is in its last leg - she has given her passport for stamping.

I want to go to Canada with her and work there. How can I do so.

Are you listed in your wife's PR application as a dependent? If so, are you an accompanying or non-accompanying dependent?

I am not too sure if I am listed as dependent but I am listed as a non-accompanying spouse. Afterwards we decided we will go together.
Also I was asked to go through same Police verification and Health check up process which my wife was asked to. I have successfully completed that as well.

You'll need to obtain a visitor visa and travel with her to Canada as a visitor. Once you are in Canada, she will need to apply to sponsor you as her spouse through the inland process and include an open work permit application with the spousal sponsorship application. The open work permit will be approved approximately four months after the complete application package is received by IRCC. As part of this application process, it's quite possible you may have to redo PCCs and the medical.

You can also try e-mailing the visa office and asking them to swith you to accompanying spouse. I don’t know if they will allow it but if they do, you might be able to go with your wife and land together.

Imagine they needed to apply with non-accompanying to qualify for PR.
