Hi,
How long it takes for medicals to pass after re-doing medicals? Is re-medical request a sign that Security screening has completed?
Also, Do we need to upload information sheet again after re-doing medicals. The Panel physician told that it will be sent directly to IRCC since you already have a profile set up. Also there is no placeholder in my account. Anyone?

@legalfalcon, if i sent a reconsideration request, what is the time frame to just respond to this, if they would reopen my file or not? and can i submit a new application (re-enter the pool) while i'm waiting for the reconsideration to be reconsidered or even to be processed? as if my case was re-opened, and i already had applied once again, then i'll have two EE applications? how does this go?

@legalfalcon , I got my US PCC in November while I was living there. But moved to India in December applied for PR from India. Is my US PCC valid? If not, how do I correct it?
P.S. AOR Feb 4th.

Hi @legalfalcon , I really need your guidance in my case. This topic has been widely discussed across forums but I'll still appreciate if you could spare some time to advise me. I'm currently working full time in Montreal since February last year on closed work permit. Even before I accepted the job offer in Montreal, I requested my employer for Toronto location but they cared least about my request. However, I took this job offer to eventually gain points towards Canadian experience class.

Soon I realized that I wouldn't qualify for express entry as I live in Quebec and to respect provincial & federal laws, I applied for CSQ last year in May but my application along with other 18000 applications were cancelled this year in January.

Now I'm really anxious in terms of my residence stability considering ongoing immigration instability in province and Quebec skilled worker program in disarray.

I do have an ITA from express entry and I intend to submit my documents in couple of weeks from now. As I understand, I'll have to write a letter of intention to reside outside of Quebec. I am applying for jobs outside Quebec and I'm receiving interests from employers to hire me but they take a step back as soon as they know about my status in Canada which is closed work permit. They even recommend me to obtain PR first and then they would be happy to hire me. I have all this written in emails from employers.

I will write a letter of intent but I'm not sure if that would cut it unless I provide a strong proof such as Ontario lease agreement/letter from bank that I am transferring my account to Ontario.

Also, my work permit will expire next year by Feb, 2020. If I don't have COPR by September/October this year, my employer will start the process of work permit renewal. Will this be a problem to my PR application because in my PR application, I'm trying to show my intentions to leave Quebec, whereas on the other hand, employer is renewing my work permit in Quebec. Although, my priority is obtaining PR and not my job and if need be, I will happily resign but that will invalidate my status. I'm not sure what status I will have once I terminate my employment.

Also, is it possible to apply for BOWP as I will be submitting my PR application under CEC? I'm aware that Quebec residents are not eligible. Will I have to move my residence outside Quebec to get BOWP?

BOWP requirements merely say "Quebec residents are not eligible for a bridging open work permit. Instead, if you hold a valid Certificat de sélection du Québec, you may be eligible for an employer-specific work permit under Labour Market Exemption code A75."

It doesn't talk about applicants who don't hold a valid CSQ and have applied under CEC class. This also doesn't clearly indicate the meaning of term "resident". Does it simply indicate towards address in a province or resident is widely understood as tax resident?

Thanks for reading. I'm aware it was long but I'm loosing my sleep over it and would really appreciate your guidance. Should I also consult an immigration attorney and get my express entry application represented by a law firm? Thanks

1. You may be in security screening. All security related details are retracted. To get them you will need to request CBSA and CSIS notes.

2. What is your status in Canada? If you are a PR, then you should have some source of income.

3. It has been put aside until the security results are received.

4. Security or BGC is a tricky issue. It can range from 2 months to 2 years or longer. Depends on case by case basis.
Thanks for your reply. I’m a Canadian citizen but have been exclusively living outside of Canada from past 4 years and also I had two kids that’s why I couldn’t get back to work.

My question is does it really effect the file if I’m not working. I have never filed or got social assistance. So I need to worry for this ?

Dear @legalfalcon, please help me out with this query.

i received PR recently and i claimed 50 points for the valid job offer that i had for at least one year after getting PR, but due to some Management issues my firm has decided to fire me.

is it an obligation that we have to work 1 year after getting PR? will it affect my Residency status?

kindly help me out.
Hello,
So you worked for your company for one year and claimed points for the one year experience, after which you lost your job. Is this correct? Also, what stream did you apply under?

Good day,

I am currently in my 6 mos processing. My account says background check is starting. The thing is my cousin borrowed some money on my proof of funds for an emergency he had.

Will this affect my background check? Does CIC call banks to check proof of funds?

Thank you. @legalfalcon.
Hello,
You've passed eligibility right? Also, what stream did you apply under?

Hi
My AoR is 23 April and the security started on Oct 5. It is still going on so I am probably in SS.

Should I order CSIS or CBSA notes and when will be the right time to order them?
Hi there,
I think you should order CBSA and CSIS notes to see what's been done. I am a CEC candidate and my AOR date was July 2018. My security check started around mid October 2018 and I haven't gotten PPR up to this day. The last time I contacted IRCC through my MP, they said that my application was in Calgary office and that they were still waiting on my security report. So just over two weeks ago, I requested for CBSA and CSIS notes. I'm hoping to get the notes before the end of this month. I think you should do the same.

Hi,

Need your help in understanding GCMS Notes. I’m the sponsor on file and my file is stuck in background checks since Nov 2017. The criminality and medical was passed in Oct 2018. No update on file since then.

I recently ordered gcms notes and got them back in 20 days. The Secuirty section is all wiped out (nothing is showing except a blank page-I think they deliberately removed the information). Can you explain why is that done?

2. I have been unemployed from quiet sometimes(even before I filed for sponsorship). I’m not on EI Or any other assistance except I receive Child tax benefit. My eligibility for sponsorship was passed back in Jan 2017. Now in the notes it shows that they checked 4 times for social assistance on my file. In the end it says passed. I was told by one of the relatives that since I don’t work still my file could risk a refusal. Your thoughts on this ?

3. The file status says PA- put away. Please explain what does that pertain too

4. Lastly, do you have any idea how long can background checks take. It’s been 2 years and 2 months to my application and everything is done , medical, eligibility, criminality all PASSed even PR Fees is also submitted.

Your help in this is highly appreciated
Hi Ugirami,
IRCC always redacts the security section under s15 or s16 privacy act. The only way you can figure out what's been done in security check is to order CBSA and CSIS notes. Same way you order GCMS notes. Instead of choosing IRCC as you did when ordering the gcms, you'd choose CBSA and CSIS respectively.
For background check, if your file is under security screening, it could take anywhere from 6-18 months to complete and with the status you saw saying "put away", I think you should call IRCC or raise a CSE to figure what's going on. I'm not a professional in this but that comment sounds like no one will be looking at your file anytime soon. As for being refused because you are getting child tax benefits, I have one question. Are you the primary applicant sponsoring someone else or being sponsored? Just curious

I see. If you've passed eligibility, I don't think the issue of insufficient funds and all that will be checked under security (background check). Based on what I know so far, POF, bank statement and all that kind of stuff are checked as part of eligibility, so if your notes say that you've passed eligibility, I think you are good in the child tax area. I hope senior members in the forum and shed some light on that too.

Yesterday I got my GCMS notes , we are family of 5, PNP ontario, AOR august 18, primary office :Centrsliced intake office, secondary office :CPC ottawa
Updated by: 17/10/2018
Eligibility : review required
Criminality : passed
Medical: passed
Infor sharing : in progress
Security: not started

Review required :please review funds RE account activity amount A11.2 : medicals : all valid ready to finalise PNP triage

My questions:
1) our funds in the bank account is higher than needed from CIC and it didn't decrease at all since we applied , even with current change , how come they are review requiring that?
2) after almost 7 month security not started ?
3)info sharing , what is that?

4) what should be my next step?.
