Hello.

We sent our application last January and we moved to new place this February.

We didn’t put our new address to the application since we didn’t make contract to new apartment that time.

Since our former landlord doesn’t answer our texts either phone calls, we cannot get any letters sent to old address.

To change the address to new one, we believe that we need to know the Client ID and application number.

How long does it usually take to receive an application info(?) email??

Hi you need the client or application to change your address online or by phone. Try to check your email and erase all spam or try call IRCC hotline number at 1888 242 2100 press 1 follow the instructions and dial 0 to speak to an agent ask if they can give you your application number and verify the status of your application.

To received your application just 1 to 3 days (Inland app) but with regards to AOR or Acknowledgement of Receipt it will take from 22 days, a month or more.

Uhhh.. I know that. We already tried to call the hotline and they always says that it’s not available to talk with an agent.

We’re gonna try another way to talk to an agent later but, my main question was how usually takes to get the application number through email?

After certain amount of time you sent out the documents, you will get an email with client number and application number. That’s what I read on the CiC website.

When did you send your application?

We sent on mid January around 15th.

Hopefully you can contact IRCC soon if there’s no return of application or additional documents needed they will send you an AOR but you still in the timeframe anyway so don’t you worry.

Are you inland or outland. Inland is usually very quick, whereas outland applications take between 2-3 months. If you want to talk to CIC on the phone call on either a Thursday or Friday as you usually get through after a couple of attempts. Failing that you can contact them via the web form:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp

Enter your details and in the application number field put your receipt number instead. You'll get a reply within 7 days.

There’s two types of application - inland and Outland. If you applied inland then your partner is living in Canada with you and you’ll have more than likely applied for a work permit too.

Try linking your application online. Use the option for First Name, Family Name & DOB and fill in the principal applicant's details. Once you link your account you will be able to see your UCI and application number which you can use on the webform to change your address
