I am just getting started in trying to apply for a vista work permit in Canada. I submitted the application and now awaiting a response. What are my next steps? I will be coming to Canada in May and would like to have employment in place.

There are several options to apply for a work permit without a job, such as IEC or spouse of a student/skilled worker.

You can't just move to Canada and you can't just apply for a work permit. You need to actually qualify first. From the limited information that you have provided, you don't qualify.
