Landing Interview/Work Permit question

Hi all,

I have received notice that my application process has been completed and have been scheduled for an interview in the middle of March. However, I am out of status and in the interview letter it says to bring your status document. Now that my application has been approved I can go ahead and apply for the WP but I don't know if that's necessary if I have my interview in a couple weeks. I wouldn't even get the WP for several months. Should I apply anyway to show that I am trying to be in status or is it a waste of money/application?

Please advise.

Zero point in applying for a work permit. IRCC knows you are out of status and it won't affect landing as a PR.
