Hi All,

My AOR is 5th May 2018. FSW-O

I had taken my 1st GCMS on Oct 2018 (got in hand on 1st week of Nov) and found that my work experience letters where rejected by the officer, but the application in entirety was not rejected. I immediately collected all the work experience certificates from my employers and submitted one by one by 1st week of Dec 2018. The office acknowledged the receipt of the same and forwarded to the officers at Sydney, Nova Scotia.

I raised webform to check my status, called directly, contacted through the local MP office (I have to Canada on dependent visa now), and again raised an ATIP on the 1st week of Jan, thinking that there must have been some movement. But apart from acknowledging the receipt of the docs, there has been no real activity i could understand has happened through all these communications. Meanwhile my Med has expired, but IRCC did not ask for a re examination. ( i asked over phone too whether i should go for a med test, they said no need as of now, only if CIC requests you officially then only go for it)

What i got to hear from the MP office after speaking with the CIC agent over phone that i should only come back and check on the 1st week of March, that will be 9 months from my AOR, 3 months from submission of correct work docs. It is really getting difficult to be patient and just wait for the day.

Is there any other way to understand the real status of my application apart from GCMS/ Phone Call? Do they have a physical office, where i can go and get clarity on the status?

My application status as per profile:

Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results: You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes. (Earlier it was Passed)
Review of additional documents: We do not need additional documents.
Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics: We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background Check: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.
Final Decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Thanks.
Patience is the only word I can give you. Your situation sounds very much like mine was.
My AOR March 16. I was so naive thinking if they needed anything they would ask. Only to discover in my GCMS notes after 8 months, that my application was in Review Required because of missing duties in one of my letters and they never asked for additional documents. Even my score was reviewed and went down the cut off score so I was VERY worried. I have read in this forum somewhere that if your score got down, the Officer wouldn’t even look at your application and reject it. That is not true. It depends.
I got a new letter with duties and submitted it through Web form in December. Still no movement. I ordered a second set of GCMS notes and big disappointment when I received them and realized they were almost identical to the first ones. The only change was that the calls from MP office, Web forms and new letter appeared as received. But no change in status whatsoever. Still Elegibility Review Required, Criminality in Progress and Security not started. I sent another Web form requesting status on my application. I was really frustrated and thinking my application was never going to be reviewed. I even thought of withdrawing it and apply again.
Then on Feb 11 I received a ghost update and a strange letter on How to find a job in Canada. (Strange bcause I am CEC Inland and already have job).
Yesterday I received my Ready for Visa (PPR) e mail after almost ONE YEAR waiting. My medicals expired but I was not asked to re do them again.
So... don’t loose hope. If you sent the correct documents, you will be fine.

Everything was there. GCMS clearly mentioned review for duties nothing else.
Hey, I had a similar thing with my duties and roles. NOC code mentioned generic duties and in my profession duties are specific to line of business. So I explained that in LOE and tried to pick same language for 1 or 2 duties, rest were different and they got accepted by the case analyst.
Did you explain anything in LOE?

I am not sure about POF as I was CEC and din't want to provide it.
Also, it depends on the summary of the period that you had PoF. It shouldn't be a sudden increase in the account or there should be an explanation. Check other forums and if you see there is a problem there, fix it asap
this is the latest on my profile, i received Biometrics request and cleared Medical too.

That is a good sign, it shows there are some movement on your file and they are working on it.
The online status does not mean anything. for most people it remains the same until ppr. The only way that you can get more info is through GCMS. I would say wait for a little while and apply for a new set to see if they passed your eligibility or not. but, if there is a review required case, they usually clearly explain the problem in the notes section of the GCMS and you can upload a new doc.

You can also call them, but be specific about your eligibility question. Ask them the last status of it and if it is review required.

I actually did not know about the NOC duties until recently. I thought duties should be ok as long as you have the job at the title, didn’t know that they review every single duty in detail :( lesson learnt. Also to be fair after I checked the NOC duties they mean the same thing but are not similar word to word, anyone applying a bit of logic can tell that they are ok. Guess junior analysts are paid to match words and not logic. :(

When I was applying, the experts told me - It doesn't have to match exact word to word, but cover at least 25% of same wordings. They actually don't care about the job title, and won't care even if you are a CEO of the company. What they want to match with NOC code is the duties mentioned in your ref letter with the NOC code duties.

Your duties don't have to match word for word but they should mean exactly similar as the NOC

Hello everyone!
Received AOR on May 17 2018 ... approaching 10 month completion soon. And after so much time finally there has been a bit of movement.
I was asked to go for the medical examination once again, since the previous medical examination was done in March 2018 was about to expire.
Anybody else been asked to complete the medicals once again??
The status has finally changed as well:
Background check - In process (for last 9 and half months the status was Application in Progress) - Does this mean the application is in IP2 stage??
Although there is no change of status in the other fields (only medical results says - request for medicals)

Don't know what to make of all of it. I haven't ordered GCMS notes .... Should I order them at this stage?

Best wishes to all who are waiting!!

I think it is a very good sign, you should be receiving PPR soon.

Do you know if you were in review required or your VO?

& what is your NOC?

Definitely order GCMS notes. They will need new medical exam result because if they will approve your application the resulting COPR is valid only for the duration of your med exam result’s validity.
