Hey everyone, I was hoping to get some insights in regards to my situation.

Long story short - I received my Protected Person status then was granted PR. I haven't seen my family since September 2014 and just a few days ago my dad has had suffered from a heart attack. He was hospitalized and shortly after was informed that he has hepatitis b - he just steps away from cancer.

Since this is urgent, could I legally visit my dad which is my home country? I am simply scared that he might not make it and I wish to see him before anything bad happens.

Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you.

You should read through the cessation thread in the citizenship section of the forum.

The short answer to your question is that you can certainly visit your home country, however there's a risk this may result in citizenship being refused and your PR status being revoked when you apply for citizenship.
