Thank you.

I called CIC but didn’t get detailed information about the sponsorship. I am okay as long as I know that it has been approved.

Before the application # starts witH XF********* and now In GCKey it starts with X********* (the same number they just removed the X) I was told by the agent application with X is just in the beginning of the process. After the you passed the certain process they will removed the X.

Thank you
That’s interesting. My understanding is that application number that starts with XF is temporary file number. My application number has always started with F (without the X) since I received AOR. People who didn’t receive AOR called CIC and got temporary file numbers that starts with XF. Now, you’re saying they may have already made decisions on SA with XF. Interesting indeed! Perhaps, they changed the process.

My dad’s application number now starts with F. They removed the X part of it.

Congrats Man. Not sure what they are doing with mine. Even with my PR app 5 years ago, everyone else was getting pr who applied even 5/6 months after me. But mine one had no news. Same thing happening now.
I know. These things just make us nervous. I am still nervous that why they haven't sent me a PCC request yet as most of other ppl are getting pcc and IME requests together.

So I have been coming through this very long thread - it is so imformative and helpful, I wish I had found it earlier!

BUT now I think I have some problems with our application! Specifically regarding family size!

I calculated our as 6. Myself, husband, 3 kids and my MIL who we wish to sponsor.

My husband has another child in his home country who I did not count as a dependant(well under 22). We have applied for and received a TRV for him in the past.

My MIL is and has been separated (not my FIL) for 10+ years and I did not count him.

How I missed these things is beyond me! I thoughg I was so thorough!

How does CIC handle mistakes? Will we be given the chance to correct it or will it be declined and/ or seen as misrepresentation?
Should I be proactive and notify them that I made this mistake?

FYI even if our family size is in fact 8 we still meet the Income requirements (also we are from Quebec)

Omg so stressfull!!

My Client Status is showing 'Decision Made' for Sponsorship Approval. PR Applicant Status is still showing 'In Process'. Checked the Online account, nothing has been changed there yet and still I have not received any email or anythign such. I guess, I have to wait few more days to get the email of Sponsorship Approval.

My ecas is showing Appl. Received and my parents just received biometrics request. Is anyone else in a similar situation? Once biometrics is done, any idea what would be the next course of action - PCC/Medical? Would appreciate if you could share based on your experience. Thanks!

I called the CIC again to have a second opinion on dec 31 date for biometeic submission.
This time the call center agent didn't have an answer and she suggested me to fax this enquiry to the Mississauga office directly and provided me the fax number for the office.
I have faxed the mississauga office. Now waiting for a response for my fax.

Regarding the biometric fee, I did pay it with the application as there was an option to do so. My idea was that if they don't need the biometrics the fee will simply be refunded. I did not know that playing safe at CIC's truff will backfire things like this.
I think the payment of the fee is causing the confusion. It may be a pain to sort it out and convince them you paid in error when the requirement did not apply to you. And ask for refund. I suspect their policy may not be that forgiving and they may simply ask you to do biometrics. Good luck. Keep us posted.

I think as a general matter Biometrics is a new topic and only through the shared knowledge here we will find out how CIC approaches it. All 2019 PGP people will have this requirement apply to them. I suspect we will soon need biometrics column in the SS.

Hello all,
Need advice, when we have applied the first name(given name)on my father's passport was empty so fill our application accordingly. But now he made changes in his passport and added corrected first and last name. How should i update this in my application. My application status is 'in Process'. Do not have SA yet.
