So I'm aware that some (lucky lucky) applications get sent to Mississauga, but I wonder where you get the specific information that it is based on whether the application is straightforward or not? I always assumed it was based more on how backlogged the NDVO was (or perhaps even just totally random), but having said that, I have noticed that a disproportionate number of American apps seem to be sent there...
NDVO - you mean New Delhi?

NDVO = non-domestic visa office :) (Sorry, I see here that a lot of people on these boards are using it to mean New Delhi -- that was probably really confusing of me! :p)

Whew :D I found it as New Delhi and was "surprised" a bit o_O:D

I've heard about backlogged reason too, but my application was send to Wasaw, which are very slow.
So I'm doubt now

I'm a bit afraid of using abbreviations and try to avoid that if possible. PA, SA, MD, DM, CPC, VO, NDVO, ADR, PPR - that is just a very small part of them. Many don't even know what all those mean which makes it difficult to understand what others are talking about. In Warsaw applications thread there was a total confusion when 2 people almost successively one after another used ADR abbreviation. And one, as turned out, meant Additional Documents Request whereas another one was Alternative Dispute Resolution (who could guess?!).
So unless it's totally clear, I'd stick with full names :)

Haha yeah, thanks for pointing it out! Maybe I'll go back and change it for clarity. Definitely our app shouldn't be going to New Delhi!

I guess it could be based on if the VO is falling behind the average time (or if they just indicate to CPC-Sydney they need some relief), and if Warsaw's slow speed is considered "normal" or "average" they don't consider it backlogged?:( A better guess might be that it's actually CPC-Mississauga that lets Sydney know when it has extra availability and then Sydney just throws them an application every x number of times.

In any case, I hope your case is the exception in Warsaw! The fact that yours is already there is at least ahead of most of us! I think almost none of the December applicants have confirmation of transfer yet...

Hey guys, I was wondering how long it's gonna take for the biometric letter after submitting the payment through web form?
When did you submit/did they confirm receipt? For me it shows they received the additional documents aka the payment on my account online, but it's been almost two weeks and i still don't have a biometrics letter. I want to wait to get this before sending my husband to do medical, because both are done at the same place.

It used to be just visa exempt that they would keep in CPC M but then they started keeping apps from NDVO. It's really just a workload balance thing, not sure if the "they only keep straightforward apps" is true anymore.

So one of the things that I heard from a friend who used to work at CIC is that when applications are received they eveluate if the background check can be done from Canada in a transparent way or not. So it wont come as a surprise if US cases are sent to Missisuaga because information from US is easily accessible to Canadian authorities. Same applies for countries such as Australia, UK and many european countries. This is not the only consideration , ofcourse the amount of backlog also dictates the outcome.

In 5-10 business days they add payment to your application.
I haven't got a request for biometrics yet...
Thanks for your reply.
Well, I already paid for it through online services and just attach it through the web form (the contact form in their website) and not in my cic account since nothing it there. Did I do it right? It's been almost 2 weeks since I paid and upload the receipt and this is what they replied to me:
"We have verified the sponsorship application and were unable to find information stating that you are the representative for the principal applicant."
I'm not sure what to do now.

I sent it around 10 days ago through the web form and got no response from them. How do did upload your receipts? through contact us form or with your cic account?
I'm not sure if I did it right.

Thanks, that's interesting background and actually might sort of confirm my pet theory that some of the differences we're noticing right now (e.g. some people with GCKey already displaying background in check versus some not) might come down to whether PA is from a visa-exempt country or not.
