Anyone here received a caution by a police officer in Canada about a small issue had any problems applying for PR?
It was a confusion at the mall but they did they take my information, name, passport, address. No picture or fingerprints. But they did call immigration to see if I wasn't lying about my legal status here - currently under the PGWP but filling out the PR forms after receiving ITA.

location adn place... its illegal for police to make such stops.. its only done by CBSA. Know ur rights mate

So, what should we say in such a situation? Can't they arrest you for non-cooperation if you are involved in something they were called for?

Or you mean they are not allowed to ask for immigration status or call IRCC?

As er law they are nt... u can be gve. Subena or court date maxout if u non cooperate

Now i don know the full story, cops just do not stop people like that, be truthful

From the looks of it the OP is concealing something. Police just do not randomly stop and take information of people. Describe what was the alleged confusion in the mall.
