So I've been busting my ass getting everything ready for applying for PR (spousal). My IEC permit expires on 24/Oct/19. Between that day and March 5 2018 I lived with my partner's parents. Then, we moved out and got an apartment, which we are still in.

My initial plan to prove co-habitation was to have her parents write letters saying that we lived together at their place until 03/05/18, then use our lease as proof of living together for the remaining time. However, since it's now nearly March 19, should I just wait until then to submit, and use my (now) year-long lease as proof? Is that better than a notarized letter?
Would it be unwise to purposefully waste another month?

Which brings me to my second set of questions: What is the current ETA for an open work permit? How long do they last for? Basically, if I apply in March, and my IEC runs out in October, am I cutting it too fine, even with an OWP?

Finally, we are struggling with finding proofs of our relationship. We don't have a joint account, because we've never had need of one. If we make one now, would it appear to the officer that we just made it for the purpose of the application? Should we have had it for the duration of our relationship? Or is its mere existence enough?

Thank you,

Thank you,
I am in the process of getting may paper work together, as well. When we were going to go with a lawyer this is the list they ask us to provide as prove for our relationship living together

Joint lease
Utility Bill's with both names
Joint bank account
20 photo showing wedding honeymoon or other outing

If you work you can include any documentation you provided to your work with your address. Bank accounts should have your address listed and you can get statements from a year ago. You don't need joint accounts. Not every couple has joint accounts. You need concrete proof. Letters from family only goes so far.

OK, thanks for the advice. I think I'll wait a month til I have a year's lease.
