I just check my mail box and found a letter which states do not forward at the back of the envelope. I open and found this gorgeous and beautiful card inside with my photo boldly on it. Its my PR card. wohooooooo my journey for a new life starts today in Canada.
Thanks guys. patience is the key. In all I have waited 26 months for this
God bless Canada and all the amazing people who make this country a place to be....Hug

It may take 1 to 7 days for NY processing center. If you want you can apply in person or send your documents. You should apply through VFS global NY.
Thanks a lot !

I had a few more questions - please try and answer them, it will be really helpful.
1. Did you mail the documents or dropped off and collected by yourself from VFS, NY?
2. I am planning to provide the below documents for PRTD. did you submit anything else that i am missing?

IMM 5524 E _ Application for a Permanent Resident Travel Document
imm5627e - Document Checklist
VFS consent form - downloaded from VFS site
CONTACT INFORMATION IN A SEPARATE PIECE OF PAPER
COPR
SIN
Passport
Photos
Fees (Package transmission, Assisted Service - Paper Applications) - 50.7 USD
Return Envelope - UPS

3. Did you submit any address proof of the mentioned address in Canada (in PR and PRTD) ?

4. Did you provide Family information form (IMM5645E) or VFS entry/exit form or anything of that sort?

If you are in USA, why not just go to borders and drive to Canada ? you can only enter with the PR confirmation and your passport and no need to PRTD.
Only people who are travelling via airplan are requested to have PRTD or PR

is this established that you can cross the border via road as a PR with only Non-Canadian Passport and CoPR?
can you share some references where people have done this in the past?

i sent my photos via my sponsor on 6th Dec but have not got any tracking since he posted via regular mail, i inquired multiple times through webform and response i got it they are processing November applications and my pictures not received yet, anyhow, 2nd February i logged in to gckey and found the status changed to application/profile updated, is that mean they received the pictures? any idea how long further for PR Card Approval and delivery? Kindly help.
I sent my photos I guess on Nov 30 and got status updated 4 days back saying it is approved. Click on the status update and see what do you see inside, as per timelines looks like they would be mailing your PR Card soon if photos are approved.

Just to let you know our time line.
Landing 08 Sep, Photo Request 31 Oct, Photos Delivered 5 Nov (courier = Purolator, to given PO box address)
checked status via webform on 8th Jan, got feedback that PR cards are sent on 11th Jan
Received PR cards on 28th Jan
I think you need to give Canada Post up to 3 weeks for delivery.
I would say give them 4 to 5 weeks before taking any action. I got mine one in four and half weeks.

This statement is true I have read it on CIC website few months ago that clearly stated the above statement, in fact I am going to do that soon. There are few other threads which also have these experience listed which I have gone in the past. Sorry could not find the link quickly so just stating it from my 2 to 3 months past research.

Guys i need your advise.

Landing 18 Sep, Photo Request 17 Nov, Photos Delivered 23 Nov.

I see all with photo delivery in december getting approvals. Sent CIC web form queries and called too. They just say they are processing November photos. I even sent Webform query and specifically asked them to trace envelope from the tracking number i provided. Got reply after 3 days with same copy paste answer.

Please suggest what should i do now. Getting really worried. I am just concerned they lost the package as it shouldn't take them this long. It's been ten weeks now since photo delivery. :(
Yes it is long time I send my photos on Nov 30 and my status got approved 3 to 4 days back. If your PR Card is approved they would have let you know with your webform query. Looks like it is not approved yet if they are just saying that they are processing it. Shoot another email after one week. I now it is pain but my experience says end result is positive things do get worked out.

I do it every week. I have been leaving in Canada since 2013 but became a PR in Dec 2018. Still waiting for my PR card to come but I go to US once every week and come back to Canada using my visa-required passport and CoPR (I use my own vehicle to cross the border).
