Tobs,
I have heard that they don't help people who don't reside in canada or in their constituency. If yes, is there a way out to get their help and if you can provide the names of few MP's that are known to help(you can PM me if you don't want to mention them here), that shall be very thankful.
By calling, I was referring to CIC not MPs. The MP I know of is Ralph Goodale and I hear he has stopped responding to people.

Hey everyone,
After a couple months reading this thread quietly, I decided to finally post my status because apparently I will be the last man standing in the July thread. Me and my wife applied with an immigration consultant so we don't have full access of the profile, or ghost updates, so here is what we know:

FSW - Inland applicant supported by LMIA
AOR: July 23rd
Medicals passed
Request of Police Clearance: Aug 14th
no more updates since then.

I called CIC for the first time on Jan 9th and got the same response as the one from this morning Feb 1: they told me that my eligibility was under review, criminality in progress and security not started.
GCMS notes has been ordered on Jan 10th so still waiting on that.
So frustrating after 6 months they could not even pass my eligibility yet!
I don't think there is much left to do, maybe contact our local MP, but he will probably just say the same thing as the call centre...

Okay. Maybe I will try to find some other MP. Thanks tobs
Hi,

Just a suggestion, and I don’t know if it will work, but if you know where you plan to settle, try contacting the local MP there. If you can convince him that you are likely to live in his constituency, he may take your case on board in the hope you will vote for him in the future.

It’s a shame that Ralph stopped responding, but I can understand why. He was receiving hundreds of emails every day from people who were losing their minds about not getting their PPR after two months, none of whom were planning to live in his Saskatchewan constituency.

We are currently in Canada at the moment and we are planning a drop in to the local MP this week with a friend we have made, and our adorably cute children in tow. We will try and convince him that we will be loyal voters and excellent contributors to the community if only IRCC would give us any indication of how our application was going!

Fingers crossed you hear something soon. :D I’m hoping in my case this means my eligibility is passed (as in no other issues because why bother messaging me otherwise?) once I provide updated POF and security can get started straight away.

Either way I’ve decided I won’t be renewing my medical if it comes to it because that’s down to their own inefficiency processing the application. So they are on the clock now :p
Hey Buddy!,
I read your post about a request from them on POF after 7 months,it is indeed unfortunate. Looking at your other posts it seems you will get the situation sorted hassle free.Glad to know that.
If you don't mind me asking ,what does your background check say on your application portal ? Had they already started the background check ? I have some sort of a similar situation but with a home loan and even my CSEs say everything is in order :D
By the way, I have not yet received any communication in this context but thought of asking you.

Cheer!

You already have an LMIA....So, why do worry about Eligibility. It will be passed....
You will get more information from Notes about your VO and precise status...

Hey Fernando,
It's pretty weird how you never know what people are going through until they share. Nice to know more about you.
If you don't mind me asking. Did you eventually get a work permit? How were you able to stay in Canada for a year?
Hi tobs,

I had to apply in August to extend my stay as visitor and was issued a Visitor Record allowing me to stay for 6 more months, which will expire this next February 13th.

As a last attempt, we applied for a work permit on December 20th. By then, as per IRCC website, the processing time for this kind of permit was 6 weeks. Two weeks ago they updated it to 7 weeks. Yesterday, precisely, my application completed 6 weeks without a single movement or anything on it, and tbh, I’m not confident they’ll do anything soon either.

On my last call to IRCC, when I reached the 6 month-mark in my EE app, I asked the agent about what my situation would be in a worst case scenario of having my WP refused after Feb 13, when I’d be, in theory, without status here. She said if I don’t hear back from them until feb 13, I’d be on implied status and if a refusal happened, I’d get a letter with the reasons of that refusal and a statement saying I must leave the country “as soon as possible”. Not satisfied with this “asap”, I asked how long that would be, she said I should interpret that as a reasonable time to finish everything I have ongoing here and leave.

Do you see the reason why I’m mad at them? They cannot even abide by their own rules? It’s ridiculous....anyways..

That's a great great idea....will try to find an MP....Thanks Eric.

Just got off the phone with a CIC agent. Eligibility is passed (finally!), and so is criminality. Security hasn't started yet. I've been under review required for eligibility (employment) for what felt like ages! I saw an update on my profile y'day, so called them up today. Took me 5 attempts and 30+ minutes of waiting in line to be finally able to get through.

If I don't hear anything in another month, I will order my 3rd set of GCMS notes!

If you ever need to learn the art of patience, call the CIC :D

That seems like good news to me! Did you have to provide any further info to clear your ‘review required’ status? Interested as I think we must be in a similar position.

Yeah, i submitted more paperwork to prove my foreign work experience. I managed to get another reference letter which i think helped. Wrote an explanation letter for each and every point that was raised by the case analyst but also provided more supporting documents. In all, i raised two CSEs (both with additional documents) and 2 gcms notes between Nov 2018 and now. In my 2nd notes, i saw they'd acknowledged the new documents but that was the only change i noticed. I also sent them the offer letter from my current job even though it's not a valid offer (i anyway had to update them on the change in my status).

I noticed that they've missed a lot of documents and so i wrote an explanation letter, attached the previous documents I'd sent and literally highlighted the date and info on that with a highlighter

I did the same with a relieving letter. The case analyst said my pay stub for xx month was missing, but the official letter said "we're holding back employee's salary for xx month as per protocol".

Again, took a bright pen and highlighted that bit in the official letter and mentioned that in a new explanation letter! Phew!

Hey @TanuP ,
It seems I am in a similar situation and expecting a review required for POF. Not received any communication yet though. I wanted to know , when did they trigger your background check, I mean criminality was declared passed . Was it long time ago like the standard 90 days after AOR, or was it later because you were in RR and once the officer cleared RR then criminality was passed ?

Cheers!

Well, both the notes suggested criminality in progress (I'd ordered the 2nd one in mid-Dec, first one in Nov). I was informed by the agent today that I've been cleared. But, I'm taking it with a grain of salt knowing that sometimes agents don't have all the info. I'll definitely order another set around the 3rd week of Feb.

Why do you think you'll under RR for funds?
