Hi all. I'm CEC Outland. AOR 19th December. No updates yet.

Couple of questions - I'm from the UK and still haven't received a request for Biometrics. Is this normal? My assumption was they didn't start to review your application until Biometrics had been given - is that true?

Also.. I paid RPRF in advance with my application. I've seen a few people post about not receiving their job letter. I received mine on the same day as AOR. Is this because I paid in advance or is the job letter linked to a stage of the process that i'm not aware of?

1. Likely because you haven't crossed MEP yet. Apparently, the biometrics request letter follows shortly after. (I'm assuming you're a UK citizen.)
2. That's very interesting to know that you received your job letter at the same time as your AOR. That further underscores that there is no verifiable link between the job letter and an imminent PPR.

I got a response from my CSE asking about status of visa office/eligibility/criminality/security from a few days ago. It's still at CIO even with IP1. According to them, they're not even looking at anything yet on my app.

Good day [my name here],

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

You will find below useful information that we hope will help understand the process and current status of your permanent residence application.
  • Your application is currently being processed at the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
  • The background verifications have not been initiated.
  • The medical examination results on file are valid for you and your spouse.
Although processing times may vary, rest assured that we are committed to finalizing your application within the regular processing time.

We invite you to visit our website for more information on what to expect after a permanent residence application is submitted.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

There are some more links below that are put into every CSE response. I'm a bit surprised they replied at all.

Hi futur Canadians!
I don't know how many time I've spent on this website and other EE related threads...and still haven't understood what IP1 and IP2 mean.
Does someone have screenshot examples ? Thank you in advance and good luck to everyone !!!

Also UK citizen, also AOR 19th here and only got my Biometrics request letter today.

When did you do your medical? Would be interested in keeping track of yoir progress to compare as we go though I'm EE rather than CEC.

I got the letter about job seeking same day as AOR also, incidentally.

Hello All,
Just got my medical approved. I didn't receive any emails from CIC. Anyone with similar timeline should directly check by logging into your profile for any updates.
AOR - December 19, 2018
ITA - October 29, 2018
MEP - January 30, 2019

AOR: 18/12/2018
MEP: 29/1/2019
Background Check: Status changed from not applicable to your application under process. We will message you when we start your background check on 29/1/2019
Received an email stating that there is an update on my profile. Please check the status/message- 30/01/2019
But nothing has changed since 29/1/2019. What is happening?

Do they process applications in batches (as in FSW-I, FSW-O, CEC) all separate, or just according to AOR - whatever they get first? Or according to country...

AOR DEC-18
MEP JAN-30
But CIC requested RCMP certified criminal record check based on finger prints... I do not know why...
Anyway I need to know which way is better, going to police station or private accredited company..
