i think if you put 67 your number will not be shown,(will be shown like a private number)

Which Option to press for speaking to an agent? I tried multiple times and always reached a dead end and call dropped

i think you should listen to the options, you have to press a lot of 1s. One or twice you have to press 2 but mostly it is listening to the options and pressing 1. After you get to the point where the machine asks you enter your application number by keypad after which it asks for year of birth, then you have the option of having the machine read out your profile status to you. Once the machine shuts up it gives you a number of options. The option to talk to an agent is by pressing 0.

That's what I thought as well... eligibility goes first, and then background check.
I read eligibility is the first thing that's done after R10 is completed. Once you passed eligibility then other background checks are carried out. Sometimes files maybe even transferred to local VO to verify work experience, education etc and criminality checks.

I request everyone to please do not bug agents with calls or any other type of queries(regarding the progress of application) unless you have entered 7th month with no results on hand. They have specifically mentioned everywhere that they will provide us a decision within six month period and most of us might have noticed in the reply we get from the agents stating "You are very well within the 6 month processing period". Please be patient. We all are mature, grown up professionals, lets act like one.

Just imagine someone knocking your door every other day or calling you, texting you regarding something you promised to deliver in a certain period of time (especially when you have made it pretty clear that product won't be ready till this date), how you going to feel ?

but if you have missed the deadline then person who placed the order has every right to inquire, raise queries and aggressively reach out to you and ask what went wrong and why the product was not delivered with in promised timeline. I hope you all understand what i am trying to convey. thanks
