Applying online is better?

Dear All,

I have recently got Canadian TRV Visa for validity 6 months in September 2018. It was my business visit, invited by canadian company. I went there and stayed 20 days came back after work. Now i am applying again for business visit, invited by same canadian company. Should i apply online or through VFS?

Can anyone tell why they gave me 6 months visa as i heard that whoever gets the canadian visa, its always for 10 years.

Each case is different and is assessed on its own merits. I’m guessing it’s because your stated purpose was business so they granted you a short term visa to validate your purpose.

If you already gave biometrics for your last TRV, online shouldn’t be a problem. Biometrics are now implemented for all applying for TRVs and PRs. Still good to refresh the company documents and purpose of visit even if you were successful in the past.

I have got my passport back exactly after 12 days and got 7 years (till the validity of my passport) Multiple Enteries Visa.its B-1 (visitor-Business) Visa. I want to ask what is the difference V-1 Cat and B-1 Cat Visas? Is it possible that if i make new passport with new validity till 2036, i can apply again and ask them to extend my visa till 2036 without submitting any other supporting documents? and can i apply before expiring of my current visa?

One more questions,,with B-1 Cat visa, Can i open bank account in canada? and maximum how many days i can stay in one visit in Canada? And Any benefit to go to USA with this visa or to get USA visa with this 7 years canadian visa?

Others can comment but whether you can open a bank account or not would be the decision of the bank given not all banks are keen. How many days you can stay in Canada will be determined by CBSA when you arrive, could be days or could be upto 6 months. Having a Canadian visa will probably make no difference to getting a US visa as the US have their own requirements and of course a Canadian visa does not allow you entry to the US.

Cannot answer difference between v1 and B1. As for extending a visa through 2036 believe you will need to apply from scratch as and when your current passport/visa expires with new updated documents. After all you are talking about applying in 2026 so whilst some documents might be same, new photo / biometrics would be required , forms can change , visa requirements also as can circumstances and there is never any guarantee of getting a new visa just because one was granted previously.
