Hi guys, I have following situation.

Yesterday I received AOR from CIC for my wife & me. However, wife 's AOR reflects her before marriage name which we filled during our PR application in back 2014. During PR process we have changed her passport with married name to Local Canadian consulate in India & got PR Visa & CO-PR with married name itself. After in Canada,we received all Canadian ID proofs with her married name only (e.g SIN card, PR Card, Driving License, Health Card etc). In short, she never uses her before marriage name at anywhere except her PR application. Also, during citizenship app she used her married name with all required supporting doc but don't know why such thing occured.

So I am just wondering how should I approach CIC to update their system with her current married name ? also, how should I connect CIC through phone or request letter ? and when will be best time to contact (means when they assign processing office to my file & transfer to local IRCC office or before that) ?

Looking forward some expert advice on this, so my case wont get unnecessary delay :)

Dear Fellow Applicants,

Is anyone else experiencing technical difficulties with accessing the CAS (citizenship status check) today?

I checked my status yesterday and it was 'In Progress', and when trying to log in to my account today, I get a screen where it says 'we can't identify you/retrieve your info'. I use the exact same credentials I used before (I tried both my CIC number and a case/application number), and it's not working today. I wonder if it's just a temporary technical/server problem or there is something wrong with my case...
I just checked and the ECAS is working fine. Please check whether you are selecting the right box under identification type and also try from another browser.

I did. I tried a few browsers and clearly am using the right credentials (I do it all the time), still not working... Really weird!

Hello,
one quick question for those who already finished the test. how much time approx does it take on the day.. test+interview+wait time etc
thanks
Partha
It is pretty fast. Not more than 1 hour usually after the test starts. If there are too many people it could extend to 2 hours or so.

I sometimes get an error but the error occurs when one of the keys is not pressed properly. Try another computer or keyboard or press each key hard. If it still does not work, then call CIC.

Hi there,

I have a question...Would the oath invite come in the form on an email or would they send a physical mail?
Usually e mail ,but in our case we have had problems receiving e mails so at the interview in Halifax Tuesday we were told they would send our oath invite by regular mail ,were told oath should be February or March but no later ,

Hi Guys,

Luckily I found this forum. Here is my situation, I hope you can add me to the track and give me some guidance about my case...

I applied to citzenship with current address, current email, and divorced legal name (same as maiden name), same as my PR. My married name was used only during student/work visas many years ago. My PR has already my divorced/maiden name.

App Received: May 01st, 2018
My location: Vancouver
Application: Single

AOR received: June 27th, 2018 (which I didn't receive by email, But I found out about it by accessing online. I called CIC and they informed it was sent to an older lawyer (reached her and she said never received) but they told me not to worry and gave me the application number, saying they couldn't resend it but they told me where to find the book online to study. They updated my email contact that day again and said I would be receiving notifications from now on.

I went online and checked, and my name in the screen still was showing my application name, divorced/maiden name.

Kept checking every day, then finally there was a change.

Started processing application: July 31st . When my application changed to IN PROCESS, they changed my name in the system to my old married name. I called CIC again and asked what happened, and they said probably the agent that started processing my case changed my name back to married. They said they made a note on file, to revise to my correct name, same as PR, application, etc.

That was the last update i had. I check every day, I called many times, they just tell me to wait. I asked a few times if the reason my process is taking so long has anything to do with they wrongly changing my name, they said should be fine. It is really frustrating that someone started processing my file and didn't bother to look my documents and see my proof of legal name updated....

I have no idea what's going on. i just see I'm far behind, stuck , and everyone here got test invitations.

What should I do?

Does anyone else had a similar experience?

I have many trips to US since I live in white Rock and cross the border periodically, but I submitted a perfect travel journal, even including days I went to US only for a few hours and does not even count as a day. I have a good track of my travel journal. Could this delay be related to frequent trips??

Thanks in advance for ANY COMMENT!!

Since only 38% of application in May received test invitation. This number for April and March is 48% and 51%. I don't think there is issue in your case. I understand your felling, but I think all you need is patience. Your day will come.

Husband wrote the test 2 months ago (Nov. 8) and still no response since. They said their might be a small delay as CBSA didn't stamp one entry and they had to request records (or something like that). Still says "In Process". Well we are not too worried, we don't want his citizenship ceremony conflicting with his school practicum.
Mine is still in process too, maybe they requested my records because I cross by car, and in this case there is no stamp....

As you case is still under process, please write a letter explaining the issue and keep the letter brief and precise. Mail it to CIC with your case number under registered mail. In addition, find the fax number of your local office processing the case and send them a fax of the same copy. Few days later, call up the CIC agent and check that your letter is received and the name has been changed.

There are just two many people applying for citizenship and files are getting delayed. So, do not worry !

Secondly, if you have lot of travel in your passport, the CIC agent will get CBSA records which may delay your case by 30-60 days but atleast they will have all records.
