On the eimm5669e.pdf question 6 it says: "Personal history. Provide the details of your personal history since the age of 18, or the past 10 years, whichever is most recent. Start with the most recent information. Under "Activity type", write your occupation or job title if you were working. If you were not working, provide information on what you were doing (for example: unemployed, studying, traveling, retired, in detention, etc) Please do not leave any gaps in time."

Ah, i completely misunderstood the nature of the question. So i will ask a new one! I am a US citizen living in canada being sponsored as a common law. How badly does it reflect to have not job experience for the past 10 years? What happens if there's a gap in time or a poor arrangement of dates due to fadded memory and lost records? Will i be punished at for saying "I lived in [city] and to [wrong date] from [wrong date]? Will it hurt to be questioned and not be able to give answers that match dates?

Also, very important question: I am on a visitors visa studying Japanese as a hobby. Is this a violation of some kind? I wish to utilize self learning to better myself. I might be asked what my dream job is and i dont know if self study is against the rules. Let me know so i can stop immediately!

The fact you haven't had a job in the past 10 years won't be an issue provided your sponsoring partner is working.

Do your best to document the right dates and locations where you have lived. Small errors won't be a problem.

You can study up to six months as a visitor. Anything that last beyond six months requires a study permit.
