Hi everyone,

I have a quite unique situation. Hopefully anyone can help me. I received an Ontario Provincial Nomination and based on that I also applied for temporary work permit. I received an Employer-specific work permit for two years (until 2020). My Ontario PNP Certificate is about to expire and I decided that I do not see my future in Canada and don't want to apply for a PR. I was planning to work and travel for another year and then return back home. I've heard that there is a possibility that an officer would not let me back in the country with this current work permit if I don't apply for PR. Is that true?

work permit is not a travel document... u need to apply for work visa first..

Hi,

I am sorry, but I am not sure if I quite understand this. So I am not allowed to work with this permit? And for what kind of visa am I supposed to apply if I am a Provincial Nominee and have a valid work permit?

Thank you!

no no.. let me rephrase it.. work permit allows you to work once u r in canada...to enter canada you need a visa.. unless u r US citizen ...
Step 1: Are you a us citizen ? if yes u can enter and work on that permit , but do u have LMIA, because u cannot imply get permit on basis on nomination, nomination is separate thin. and Getting work permit is separate process
Step 2: I am guess u should have LMIA as you said its employer specific. Can you please confirm this

Hi,

I am not a US citizen. I have a LMIA-exempt work permit (exemption code T13, case type 52). It is a closed work permit valid until 2020.

Hi,

Thank you for your help! So if I understand correctly I can apply for my Temporary Resident Visa with my current work permit and then I will be allow to travel outside Canada and come back without any problems? Is there a chance that I would not receive a TRV? Also for how long do they usually give you TRV? Until your work permit is valid?

Thank you!

Also, I am checking online if I am eligible to apply and one of the questions is: Which situation best describes your work situation?
Under the possible answers the one that I could relate the most is: I am a provincial nominee certificate holder. Can I choose this one even though my certificate expires in the end of this month? Or another one that might be possible for me is: I am working under the international agreement. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi,

I am sorry to bother you but I was killing myself with this for the whole day and trying to realize how to apply etc. I also have ETA. Do you think this is enough or do I need to apply for TRV?

Thanks! :)

Hi Everyone,
I have my EE profile created in October 2018 and my CRS is 438.
Does OINP consider EE profiles created only after 1st Jan or will my profile also be considered for oinp draws?
Should I create new profile now or continue with old profile?

Regards,
Pritesh
