ECA from Mumbai University

Hello folks,

I am at a dead-end in the ECA process with WES and in dire need of help. Will try and keep it short. My ECA is for Bach. of Engg. (4 years). I have got "ALL" of my marksheets (Sem 1 to 8) attested by Mumbai University.

Sent the docs to WES. They accepted my degree certificate (which means seal/stamp on envelope was all fine) but rejected my marksheets stating the following:

"Mark sheets representing years 1 and 4 of study must be issued and attested by the University of Mumbai. Mark sheets for years 2 and 3 of your study program (semesters 3-6) can be issued and attested by the University of Mumbai or the college you attended."

When I checked my docs (even on forums), found out that Sem 1 is issued by college. Not sure how do I proceed? Can someone please help me out here. Would really appreciate it.

please shed some light on the process. I have had my transcripts taken from my college sealed and stamped properly. Now I just want to insert my Degree certificate copy in the envelope. But where to go and who would be sending it to WES?

I have already paid the fee to WES.

Please help if you the new process.

Hi Folks,

The Problem of the matter lies with Transcripts, Currently with the new rule coming in to force from December 2018, WES does not accept Trancripts issued by college and attested by university. The Transcripts has to be issued by university itself and currently mumbai university is reluctant to issue trancripts.

Guys, I recently got the below response from WES and I am now totally confused, as to how should I now proceed further or what documents should I resend.

I am BE grad from VJTI 2002 batch, VJTI was affiliated to Mumbai University back then.

I submitted University attested (from the Churchgate office) documents as below:
- Degree Certificate
- Degree passing certificate
- marksheets (Sem 2, 7, 8 university issued and Sem 1,3,4,5,6 college issued)
- transcripts for all Sem (issued by college, I submitted original, so it has two stamps one of college and one of university attestation)

Sent it in a university stamped and sealed envelope, with "FROM" address as stamp of Registrar, University of Mumbai address. Couriered by DHL near university office in churchgate.

Any guidance will be highly appreciated.

Hi Bro,

I am from VJTI 2009 passout. During then too VJTI was called as 'Autonomous - Affiliated to Univ. of Mumbai'. All my marksheets (Sem 3 to Sem 8, as i was direct second yr admission) are issued by VJTI. However, degree certi is from MU, and it says "VJTI (Autonomous)" in college name. I've applied for transcripts from vjti yesterday and they said "we will send the sealed envelope directly from vjti to WES (for USD 60), you dont need to take it to MU". However, I am not sure if WES will accept this from VJTI as in the list of autonomous college on WES website, the year autonomy is granted is listed as 2011 (so assuming they will not consider vjti as autonomous for 2009 passout)? Should i take the vjti copy to MU (open vjti envelope) and get it attested by MU and send the courier from MU or just submit vjti's envelope as it is from VJTI?

I have a confusion regarding what WES requires. It says college issued marksheets or statement of marks will not be accepted. But in Mumbai University, first and second year B.Sc. exams are conducted by college only, not university, hence university does not issue transcripts for B.Sc. course. Can anyone please guide on the process?

Hi, i got similar query from wes last week. I dropped them a mail explaining them that 1st year exams are not conducted by univ, but by college hence the marksheets are from college, and attested by University. This is standard for all colleges under Mumbai University. They accepted this point and are processing my docs further. You too can tell them the same. Use "contact us" email form om

Hi i haven't done bsc so i don't know the process. However just explain them Ur specific case and tell them this would be the case for all students under University of <Mumbai?>. Give them clear details and they will understand.

I might be able to help you in this scenario.

I've done my BCA from University of Pune. For our course, Semester I and II examinations are conducted by college and semester III onwards its conducted by University of Pune.

I got an official letter from University of Pune stating that our College conducted exams and they were conducted as per university rules and standards. University of Pune sent this letter with Transcripts and WES accepted my Semester I and II mark lists issued by College.

I sent following documents for BCA

i) Semester I and II mark lists and transcripts issued by our College
ii) Semester III,IV,V& VI mark lists and transcripts issued by UoP
iii) COllege affiliation letter issued by UoP.

Neeraj, Can you please confirm if your college sent marklists directly to WES OR you put those together along with UoP marklists, and UoP sent everything to WES ? Thank you in advance.
