guys please help me to know the truth

i applied for canada visiter visa on june 17th 2018 bythrough an agent.i didnt get tracking id from him instead of that i got my application acceptance letter first from him from the delhi high commission.I tried with the uci number and application number to check about my visa status.But i couldnt check anything..after a while he got a mail from the consulate and he forward it to me. In that email they said,
"we are returning your passport and will be in touch shortly about your application.your applucation for a temporary residence has been received by citizenship and immigration canada.we have made a decision on your application and you will receive a email shortly"
my agent is saying once he receive a approval mail to him from canada high commission then he will take a print out copy of that email and he will go to to the vfs office with my passport for stick the visa.he shown my passports also.
5 months gone already.now 6 month started.But my agent couldnt give any assurance to me.still i am waiting without knowing anything.i m confusing about this way of process.can anyone help me to know about the truth?

The consulates and embassies don’t email those kinds of status updates. Looks like you’ve been scammed.

Your agent had certainly applied on your behalf. You cannot link your application because you had authorized your agent to represent you.

after a while he got a mail from the consulate and he forward it to me. In that email they said,
"we are returning your passport and will be in touch shortly about your application.your applucation for a temporary residence has been received by citizenship and immigration canada.we have made a decision on your application and you will receive a email shortly"

This is a clear indication of a TRV refusal. The visa office returns the passport without a visa counterfoil in such cases. If your application was approved, your visa would have been stamped in your passport right away.

The refusal letter was certainly emailed by the visa office to your agent. He should have given you a copy of it.

He is misleading you. This is not the way it works for paper applications.
